President, Echelon Front | Co-Author of Extreme Ownership and The Dichotomy of Leadership | Student of Leadership

Every Extreme Ownership Muster, I get to hear from attendees who share their excitement and feedback about how Extreme Ownership and the Laws of Combat have improved their leadership skills and impacted their lives for the better. But they just don't learn leadership lessons from me, or Jocko Willink, or the outstanding group of leadership instructors we have at Echelon Front. Muster attendees often tell me how impressed they are with how the Echelon Front team behind the scenes--our operations, media, marketing and admin team members--exhibit the leadership principles we teach in their interactions with them throughout the event.    Our Echelon Front team has leaders at every level who use the principles of Extreme Ownership to execute the mission. No matter their title or rank, no matter if they are in charge of a team of people, or if they are simply in charge of themselves and their piece of the mission, every single person at Echelon Front recognizes that they are a leader and are empowered to make decisions, solve problems and move the team forward toward the goal of impacting attendee’s lives for the better.   Our team uses leadership skills at the Muster to solve the inevitable obstacles that arise and make sure every attendee has an exceptional experience. People stop me in the halls to share that they see how our team builds relationships, covers for one another, communicates simply, prioritizes what’s most important, and empowers one another, which helps to ensure those who attend Extreme Ownership Muster get the most out of their experience so they can learn leadership principles for maximum impact. It’s hard to believe we just wrapped up our 20th Extreme Ownership Muster, #Muster020. Our first Muster 8 years ago in San Diego seems like it was just yesterday. But then I look around and see how our Echelon Front team has grown from what was then only Jocko, Jamie Lynn Cochran and me, to now over 40 employees, and a number of independent contractors.   Since Muster001 in October 2016 across 20 Musters, we’ve had over 13,000 people attend who have taken the leadership lessons they learned back to their work, their families, and communities to make themselves and everyone around them better. And that is all possible thanks to an outstanding team of leaders at every level across Echelon Front that make it all possible.

One of the things that differentiates EF from so many companies is that your team treats every request and every task like it is specifically their own. Having been engaged with EF since 2018, I've seen your team respond to small issues like, "I'll just send you a replacement shaker cup" (which I didn't even request) to much larger issues like "Sure...We'll deliver a 1/2 day workshop to your company on a week's notice" and so many things in between. In my experience, the culture of taking Extreme Ownership is strong at EF and it is a concept that EVERYONE at EF practices...it makes engaging with your team easy and enjoyable. Thank you all for doing what you do! 💪🏻👊🏻👍🏻

It was a tremendous experience, even after going through the book and the companion workbook. So much more to experience and the amounts of notes me and my team took was mind blowing. We just did a debrief today of the Muster and prioritized our implementation. Keep up the GOOD work. Also let us know when you want some Cajun food from your neighbors to the east.

It was an honor Lief. Thanks for the generosity of your time and friendship, but not for your merciless Kimura reversal counter-attack.
