The following are some additional considerations for pulling the drillstring from the hole: 🔹Hole condition. The condition of the wellbore can affect the tripping out operation. For example, if the hole is tight or has a lot of doglegs, it may be more difficult to pull the drillstring out. 🔹Drillstring weight. The weight of the drillstring can also affect the tripping out operation. If the drillstring is too heavy, it may be difficult to pull out of the hole. 🔹Circulating pressure. The circulating pressure should be monitored during tripping out to prevent swabbing. Serving two purposes with one desander 🥈 A North Sea operator required jetting of a separator to clean out solids, but also required constant desanding on the water line to prepare produced water for reinjection. The solution for both requirements was a FourPhase DualFlow desander. During seven days of operation, the DualFlow successfully separated 305kg of solids. By performing an online jetting operation to a closed skip, we successfully eliminated the need for manual handling to empty the separator, a significant relief for the customer due to HSE requirements. The desander is currently operating on the water line, and is available for future jetting requirements. Wellhead Leak : Must be repaired to maintain a safe and clean environment at the well site. On most wellhead hook-ups, leaks generally are due to faulty threads. Leaking around the wellhead bolts typically is caused by improper torque on the bolts, improperly repaired wellhead, or damaged bolts. Other than the bolt connections, the most common place for wellhead leaks is at the catcher assembly or where the lubricator screws into the flow collar. The catchers usually are attached through some type of packing gland (not unlike those found on many valves). Leaks that occur at the catcher can normally be fixed by tightening the packing nut. If not, it may be necessary to replace the catcher assembly. The lubricator upper section has a quick connect with an O-ring seal. These can leak and need to be replaced periodically. In most cases, tightening will not stop a leaking O-ring. Wellhead connections may be screwed on or flanged.
