‘You’re going to think that - you work in Leadership.’ Nope, I work in Leadership because I think this. 👇 I was having a conversation with a CFO recently and I was saying that I believe investment in Leadership would be a great initiative to alleviate some of his frustrations. Frustrations like: 😤 Team members constantly having to come to the Exec to make a decision 🤺 Silo working throughout departments, so only the Exec were thinking about the business holistically  🕴 The Exec not having enough time to focus on the future because they were getting too involved in the day to day The list went on. I was explaining some of the psychological nuances that may be at play and some cool ways we could create something to create a behaviour shift. I get very excited when I talk about this stuff, clearly, as he said, ‘you’re going to think all of this is down to people, you work in leadership’ Kind of true. But it’s the other way around. So often as Leaders we’re trying to find the activities that turn the dial in the most effective way for the least effort. We look for ways to utilise our cost base to generate the most return. We forget that our people expenditure is often our biggest cost base. Imagine the impact if you could get a 20/30/40% better return here?! I’ve spent hours throughout my exec and coaching career listening to Leaders share the challenges they’re having. They often look like the ones above.
