Top 3 Australian Recruitment Agency hiring trends I am seeing right now..... Local Experience & Networks🤝- Do not confuse this with being able to bring your clients over. This is more about knowing who's who in a particular industry. Longevity in roles🕰️- If you have stability in your CV as an agency recruiter it is assumed you have had decent billings and been successful. The opposite is also assumed if you have job hopped. Agencies are avoiding risk at all cost right now so the stability is vital. Account Managers - I am asked daily about Account Manager roles in Recruitment. They are out there but they are verrrrrrrrrrry rare. I only see them in a few types of agencies and that is agencies who have some very large accounts. That could be a big Bank spending millions on Recruitment or a large lucrative Government account. In these cases these roles are going to very experienced Recruiters who have been in market a long time. Alternatively it may be a large labour hire account that has a dedicated Account Manager. Either way, I'd say AM roles make up for about 1% or less of the agency roles in existence in Australia. I have Agency roles coming out of my ears at the moment so if you are looking to make a move, hit me up!

Recruitment agency service agreement process Recruitment agency adhere all the protocol to fulfill the requirement of client in return what they ask is Service agreement with clear terms and conditions. Why there is a hesitation from client to go for a service agreement with hiring agency initially before sharing the positions ,Why trial and tested method applied everywhere. When a client take any project from govt is it done on trial basis no,after awarding the work with agreement then the process begin,Similarly when a professional recruitment company having good track record commit for a client hiring company should fulfill the service agreement process first before sharing the requirements. It will not only motivate the agency to work closely on your requirements but also strengthen the professionalism and trust with each other. If any hiring agency has similar experience do mention. Together we will bring a change. #hr#Hiring#client management#Hassle#Recruitment#Client handling.

If price is your driver... I'm not the consultant for you. Recruitment may be a grudge purchase to some but the clients I seek out are clients that do the following: ✅ Only work with 1 or 2 agencies in specialist areas of the market, because they realize that all agencies and internal talent teams are fishing in the same pond ✅ Maximize the relationship & want consultation of market trends to maximize ROI on the fee they're paying ✅ Market themselves to candidates and sell what they have on offer to attract the best talent on the market ✅ The director/CEO/CTO/Hiring manager wants to be in contact to maximize the benefits of the fee they are paying ✅ Give constructive feedback to work towards a common goal. Its a two way relationship, but I strongly believe that companies aren't seeking to get the most out of the fee that they pay to recruitment agencies. Seek out an agency consultant that WANTS to be put to work!

Why did you leave Agency Recruitment to go to internal Recruitment? And why are you now looking to return to Agency Recruitment? This is what I will ask you when you are an internal Talent Acquisition Specialist looking to return to Agency Recruitment in one of the toughest moments of Agency Recruitment since the GFC in 2008 – 2009. When a lot of you were in nappies. The Recruitment industry is grappling with one of its toughest phases and it looks to continue until at least November. The challenges are palpable – fewer opportunities, a surplus of candidates, Recruiters back to the hustle and a return to the grind of cold calls and stringent targets reminiscent of the past. Yet, amidst this storm, there's a beckoning call to return to agency recruitment. Or is there? Reflecting on the past, I remember the GFC vividly – a time when everything ground to a halt overnight, and agencies became bustling hubs with queues of hopeful candidates. If you left agency recruitment to escape the pressures of sales pitches, cold calls, and relentless targets, the current landscape might not be so enticing. So when you are applying for Agency Recruitment roles. Make sure it's for the right reasons. That you are passionate about Agency Recruitment and it's not a stop gap until internal roles pick up again. So why did you leave Agency Recruitment and go inhouse/internal Recruitment? I’m going to ask you this because my clients are going to ask me why I am putting you forward. If you are one of those amazing recruiters that adds value to both internal and agency then I'm keen to speak to you, but only if you enjoy sales, KPI's and Targets. It's follow up Friday I remember the time not so long ago when I was working with a #recruiter who I had interviewing with a #Recruitment Agency. I called the Recruiter on the Friday afternoon at 4.45pm to make sure he was all updated; so he didn't go into the weekend wondering: "what's going on" So I said: "Ok great, you are updated for the weekend, any questions?" Keeping in mind that I had spoken to this recruiter every day. EVERY DAY "Ok no questions ,I'll call you on Monday once I have more information from the client, there's no need to call me on the weekend since it's 5pm Friday and I won't have any more information for you until Monday, have a lovely weekend". Over the weekend: That Recruiter called me 3 times & emailed me and sent me a message on Linkedin. To get an update. The next week I bought a personal mobile device. I now have 2 phones. And I didn't place that Recruiter. But if you have excellent communication skills I'd love to talk to you about these roles if you have Agency Recruitment Experience 🤗 Business Support Consultants - Auckland & Wellington Marketing & Comms Recruitment Consultant - Wellington Senior IT Recruitment Consultant - Auckland Senior Consultant - Business Support - Christchurch Account Manager - Manufacturing & Logistics - Temp - South Auckland Senior Consultant - Permanent Placements - Hamilton A & F Consultants - Auckland & Wellington Senior Recruitment Consultant - Permanent Placements - Hamilton + Car Temporary Consultant - Manufacturing - Christchurch + Car Senior Consultants - Trades or Manufacturing - West Auckland + Car Sales Recruitment Specialist - Auckland Project Management - Consulting Recruitment Specialist - Auckland Civil Engineering Recruitment Consultants - Auckland Business Development Managers - Auckland & Wellington - Commercial Temp. Whatever you think recruitment is I do the opposite and that’s why I genuinly love it. It’s interviews without CVs, its working with people not ‘actively’ on the market, it’s facilitating relationships between the best people and best companies, it’s advising and consulting, it’s advising against an opportunity if it’s not right for someone. It’s so much more than transactional 💡
‘I don’t want to get into recruitment, it’s too transactional’ FALSE Recruitment is one of the least transactional commission-based careers The role doesn’t just involve selling candidates and selling roles, but genuinely advising and consulting both parties on market trends, salary benchmarking, feedback etc. You build relationships with clients over years, and work with them to achieve their overall business goals Sure, there are some firms out there who see themselves as ‘suppliers’, but the majority partner with their clients and take on the same amount of risk and responsibility with their hiring When I was a junior and I was just looking to make quick deals, my retention rate was much lower than it is now, and that comes down to genuinely knowing my clients and wanting to source the best people for them, long-term If you’re currently working in a sales role where you’re not seeing the partnership with clients that you want, and fed up of working on a transactional basis, get in touch to hear more about what recruitment can offer you!

Should you advertise a role directly or work with an agency? Recruiting for a position independently gives you a lot of control over the process but it’s also a lot of work. Working with a recruitment agency means you can hand off a large portion of that work, and you shouldn’t need to give up any control. Just make sure you have the right partner. Reducing your workload is a major benefit to using an agency partner, but there are plenty of other benefits: - Wider access – Agencies often have large databases of professionals, including those who aren’t actively looking for a new role. A wider talent pool means you’re more likely to see the best people. - Better candidates – Specialist agencies have both recruitment experience and sector specific knowledge, so they understand what makes a candidate right for the role. The best agencies won’t just rely on a job description, they will work with hiring managers early on to learn exactly what you want from candidates. - A real partnership – Over time an agency will understand more and more about your business. Processes will streamline and adapt to how you like to work, and candidates will match more closely with the company culture. Not all recruitment agencies work in the same way, find an agency that works the way you want to!

Recruitment-to-recruitment (R2R) agencies in the Sydney market are facing increasing criticism for their poor performance. Companies report prolonged vacancies and unsuitable recruiter placements, citing inadequate screening processes and a lack of understanding of industry-specific needs. Despite the specialized focus of R2R agencies, their inefficiency in matching qualified recruitment professionals with client requirements has led to frustration and lost productivity. This performance shortfall highlights a pressing need for these agencies to refine their recruitment strategies, improve their industry knowledge, and enhance candidate vetting processes to better serve the competitive Sydney market. Changing roles in recruitment.. Changing roles in recruitment can be a daunting prospect, the thought of losing income by starting a fresh can be worrying. The change of environment and what to expect and covenants and how it may be enforced. All these factors create a mindset of worry which is a natural emotion and perfectly understandable in any sales person. Try and remember a time before you had your biggest client/s, a time where you canvased hard, had that desire to succeed and increase your comms. A time where your comms were low and hard work unearthed a gem of a client which you are still proud of today. Many senior consultants have multiple clients they could call their gems which they have been dealing with for years. How long have you been dealing with these types of clients now? 12 months? 3 years? 5 years? Your relationship is strong and they trust your service, I bet you have helped them multiple times over the years to assist with their projects/growth plans. These types of clients will never disappear, post covenants you will gain them back, they will always remember the high level of service you have provided in the past and you WILL gain an opportunity again. But also remember winning that client, YOU did that, your hard work converted that business from a prospect to a client. Remember there are hundreds of prospective clients for you to target in a new role for you to convert into a new gem. You have done it before and can do it again, confidence is the key. Do not let the worry of changing jobs consume the fact that YOU are the reason your desk is doing so well, your hard work got you to where you are today. You have done it before, you can do it again. New employers don't hire for what you can bring with you, they hire on the basis you have done it before and will do it again. Have confidence in your own ability and soon the worries surrounding a new role will seem easily overcomable. Don't let the worries of changing jobs blind you from finding a new role which will tick all your boxes, better salary, better location, promotion, better comms package etc.... will.morris@morepersonnel.co.uk
