Bentley Buyers Are Splashing Out €39,000 on Options for Each Car : ultra-luxury British carmaker is contending with a high-class problem: unprecedented demand for personalization “Customers wanted it, we’ve industrialized it, and it’s just exponentially taking off,” Adrian level of personalization its buyers are demanding is unlike anything the manufacturer has seen in its 105-year history. It’s a trend that’s keeping earnings buoyant even as the company plows billions into electrifying its lineup “On just a few thousand more cars than we used to sell in the 2000s, we’re now making three times, four times the profit per year that we used to make” More than 70% of Bentleys bought last year were outfitted with content from the Mulliner business the company beefed up in 2020, on top of the regular €39,000 of options the company sells per car 

Our latest data reveals some intriguing trends in the Year-Over-Year (YOY) percentage change in prices for domestic vehicle brands. Notably, Buick’s average listed price for new cars has dropped significantly. Though GM as a whole has seen their prices falling as well, Buick has seen the largest drop by far. This could be driven by Buick’s recently released new model, the Envista, whose MSRP, starting at $22,400, comes well below the rest of their offerings. But even with that, it does seem odd that Buick's average listing price has dropped so dramatically. The question remains, did this drop in price translate to an increase in sales? Customers have been hoping for price falls as prices hit historic highs in 2023. So have customers been flocking to Buick as their average price declines? Or have many would-be customers been conditioned to think that new cars are simply unaffordable, while those who know they can afford new cars flock to more luxurious and expensive models? The Malibu is currently the ONLY "car" listed on the Chevy website (Corvette options are filed under the "Performance" tab with the now-retired Camaro), and we'll be saying "so long" to this final ICE sedan in the brand's lineup. Since Oldsmobile shuttered in 2004, Pontiac's badge was mothballed in 2009, and Buick stopped producing passenger cars in 2020, this leaves Corvette and the Cadillac CT-series as the only ICE cars in the entire GM roster.
