As the needs of communities evolve libraries are transforming to support more diverse and engaging experiences. KI partnered with StudioFYNN on an extensive national research program to explore fundamental shifts in higher education, the evolving role of libraries within the broader community, and the critical importance of enhancing user experiences to attract and retain library users. At the core of a library’s mission today is to support this considerable breadth of needs and to enrich the user experiences in an increasingly technological era. To achieve this, libraries must focus on key drivers that shape and enhance user experiences. It is impossible to create solution spaces that support user needs without conducting thorough research. Two such techniques that might assist in comprehending user wants, market size, and demand are user and market research. As a part of the PM cohort with Scooby study, I would follow the following 4 steps to conduct a lean user research: 1. Creating a user persona will help you better understand their needs, wants, and frustrations. 2. Taking on the role of an observer to learn how and why users utilise particular products. Examining reviews on the Playstore and Appstore is one way to identify the problems. 3. Interviewing them and posing targeted questions. I would absolutely refrain from posing questions that give away too much, such as "Did you enjoy the amazing improvement we recently made to our product?" 4. Ultimately, examining the information acquired and connecting the dots will aid in pinpointing the issues at hand and pave the way for further steps like ideation, brainstorming, and user journey mapping. This is a really good publish about the value of user research by the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) https://lnkd.in/g8nAccw6 Akshat G. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗨𝗫/𝗨𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲 …? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿: A lot harder than it looks, but so rewarding. Super excited to share that I’ve completed my certification for Digital Product Design through Pratt Institute. I learned a ton through this course, and translated my skills to create a case study for my new design, MyChart Go— a medical app that utilizes color theory to tackle the hassle of mobile medical platforms. #uxdesign #digitaldesign #figma

🌍 𝐎𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐲, 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐚𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. A 2021 study by WebAIM revealed that 97.4% of websites had accessibility errors, indicating a widespread issue in digital inclusivity. In data engineering and software development, prioritizing accessibility means: 📊 Designing data visualizations that are compatible with screen readers. 🔄 Creating adaptable interfaces to accommodate users with diverse motor skills or visual impairments. 👩💻 Simplifying user interactions to ensure seamless navigation for all users, regardless of ability. 𝐀 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤, 𝐈 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐧—𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. This experience reminded me how important it is to create technologies that aren’t just functional but are also tailored to users’ diverse needs. Programming the Novint Falcon allowed me to see firsthand how haptic feedback can enhance usability for individuals with visual impairments or motor challenges by providing a tactile experience to complement the visual and auditory cues. On World Usability Day, let’s commit to building a more inclusive digital world. Every choice we make in design brings us one step closer to ensuring technology serves everyone. #WorldUsabilityDay #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #DataEngineering #HapticTechnology #InnovationInTech #Usability
