If you deliver ESFA funded provision, you now need to evidence and contextualise reasons for under performance of key data points. Our granular LMI data can help you do just this. For example the image below shows the recruitment trends for hair and beauty occupations, showing a reduction of 32% in available roles in the last year. Therefore a significant contributing factor to the low apprenticeship completion rates in this sector. With 1900 specialist occupations to explore across the whole of the UK, we have solutions that can help. Lightcast

🔍 The Importance of Accurate Workforce Data in the UK 🔍 Nichola Hay highlights a critical issue: the gap in accurate workforce data, especially regarding apprenticeships and L&D initiatives. This deficiency not only hinders understanding the skills landscape but also affects productivity levels and economic growth. Real-time, transparent data capturing is not just beneficial; it's an economic necessity for aligning with future skills demands. #UKLabourMarket #WorkforceData #SkillsGap #EconomicGrowth https://buff.ly/3J80ksC

The latest Tech Ed report draws on data from the three longitudinal surveys of the first T Level cohort. We found over a quarter of T Level completers in paid work or an apprenticeship reported working for the organisation that provided their T Level industry placement and about four-fifths of T Level completers agreed that their T Level had allowed them to progress to what they want to do. https://lnkd.in/ejqQgd_u #TLevels #Placement

Our foundational research report ‘Two Million Jobs’ uncovered many outstanding examples of businesses being a force for good in British society. Businesses like William Cook Cast Products, who regularly hire local people with few qualifications and teach them what they need to know on the job. Businesses like Nestwork, whose CV assistant analyses job descriptions and then helps applicants improve their CV, to help them get the job they want. Businesses like ExpHand Prosthetics, whose colourful, adjustable prosthetics are specially designed for children. And businesses like Valero, whose apprenticeship programme provides a route into high-skilled employment for local young people, which they can balance with their studies at college. Follow this link to read the full report and our key findings: https://lnkd.in/eDpHd6KD With thanks to Samuel Ola, Kate Allan, Sir Andrew Cook, William James, Matthew Williams and the hundreds of others who contributed to our research.

It's fantastic to see The Jobs Foundation's 'Two Million Jobs' report published this week, especially with the spotlight it shines on Pembrokeshire, and the role that businesses play in supporting people's lives and aspirations in our beautiful county. It was a pleasure to introduce Nick Tyrone to the area and to some of our fantastic businesses across energy, agriculture and tourism, and I'm bowled over by how he's sensitively and positively captured the spirit of the place and its people. For anyone growing up or living in West Wales, there is always the nagging feeling that most people in Westminster or Cardiff Bay believe the world stops at the end of the M4, so to see Pembrokeshire's successes - and challenges - play a prominent role in this foundational piece of research is quite something. I'm especially pleased that our own efforts at Valero Energy Ltd (UK) Pembroke Refinery is held up as best practice on employment and training, especially our wonderful apprenticeship and student bursary schemes. Making sure our local young people have the skills and confidence to tackle some of the biggest engineering and operational challenges in the world is not just good for business, it's good for our economy and society - and it's something we've been doing in Pembroke for six decades. Pembrokeshire really is the 'Cutting Edge of Britain', as outlined in the report, but to really thrive we need to constantly push for the incentives and investment that our local businesses need. That means practical things like improving access through better transport infrastructure and improving the local business environment so our young people don't need to leave their villages and towns for other parts of the country. Thanks to Nick, Georgiana Bristol and Matthew Elliott for shining a light on Pembrokeshire, which has everything going for it: a world-class energy sector, highly productive and efficient agricultural land, and a tourism offering that is second-to-none. Let's keep banging the drum for our beautiful home, and send a clear and unmistakable message that 'West is Best'.

The results are in! In our recent poll, 87% of you shared that you went straight into higher education following your A-levels. A figure which probably isn't too surprising considering the demographic of VRS followers. We hope to see more apprenticeship opportunities available in future. What changes do you predict/would like to see in the coming years? 🍀 Good luck 🍀 to everyone awaiting their A Level results tomorrow. Whichever path you follow, we wish you every success in your next steps. #vrsrecruitment #sciencejobs #sciencecareers
