Sharing health content specifically targeted at women or men? ❗❗Share your experiences with CensHERship❗❗ Women’s health entrepreneurs face a number of challenges rooted in structural issues and the gender data gap. A concrete manifestation can be seen when it comes to marketing. CACs are already higher because of the vast amount of advertising targeting women in reproductive age (as the household decision maker). And then there’s the rejection of ads, removal of content and accounts being banned that not only hinders important messaging, but also reinforces unnecessary shame. Daye's tampons have been miscategorised as contraceptives (please don't try that at home ❌ 🙄 ). Demonstrating pad absorbency with red fluid have been labelled as adult and political content across major digital platforms. At Tilly, our content was blocked for mentioning estrogen (a hormone present in very single body).  And for anyone who has ever been trying to get a hold of someone at a social media platform, well… as an entrepreneur you don’t tend to have that kind of time on your hands. CensHERship have done an amazing work to gather insights and drive debate around the censorship of women’s health content online, and the survey is still open… help them out if you have anything to share 👇👇
