I Have been doing art and health podcasts for the last few months. I am working on a 10-episode series and the script for episode 7, but I need to catch up. In the meantime, I will be posting parts of my podcast transcript. This is a part of the script of episode 3, Being Social: Last time, we discussed Burnout and its effect on our psyche. This episode will be a little less depressing. I don't know the words to describe this episode, but it is essential to have in life. The health course discussed more than just the food you ate and working out. It also talks about things in the environment in which you surround yourself. This week, we will be talking about being Social. As humans, we evolved to be Social creatures. One individual cannot do everything themselves, and those who claim they can can not do so forever. Being social is a part of life and essential to your overall health, whether you like it or not. I'm not going to sit here and say that making friends is easy; it's not, especially if you're an adult. Back then, you could like something, and another kid could enjoy the same thing, talk about it for hours, become friends instantly, and see each other every day at school. That relationship would last for years until you drifted apart. As an adult, you must look for friends, meet up with groups, network, communicate through message boards, and meet new people through old acquaintances. And if you do make new friends, now it's up to you to maintain these relationships. It can get tricky, especially if you're introverted, socially inept, or a combination of the two. But despite the challenges, you must try to maintain relationships. As I said, we're a social species that needs human interactions. And there are physical ramifications to isolating yourself. It is said to be akin to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, causing an increase in heart failure and a 50% increase in dementia. I have seen several clients who fall into this category. Many are physically active and eat right but still have heart problems. When I dug deeper into their personal lives, I found a pattern showing that the client usually doesn't have a support system, and despite doing everything, quote "right." they still have these heart issues. I have friends who say it's hard to keep in touch, and I know that to be true because I also have trouble with it. As an adult, you have a million things to do, like work, pay bills, spend time with family, grocery shopping, pay bills, get gas, clean your home, make doctor appointments, pay bills, complete house projects, and attend events. I remember having these conversations with friends; we always said we should get together more often, but then a few months passed, and we hardly texted each other. Life gets in the way. Did I mention all the bills we have to pay? #healthandwellness #artcommunity

"𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨" In the final episode of the original 'Walking Dead' series, that quote really resonated with me. It embodies a sense of resolve and alignment between these characters that's truly beautiful. It felt like the world in that show had a sense of providence, giving it a deeper significance. And as (die-hard) fan of the 'Walking Dead Universe', seeing its spin-offs with timelines all connected and overlapping was just mind-blowing. When I first heard about their plans for it, I thought it was nothing short of genius 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 What really got me buzzing was how these spin-offs expanded the storylines. You know, different timelines, stories within stories — it felt like peeling back layers of an onion, discovering new depths to the universe. It got me pondering about my own creative projects, like this TV drama I'm workin on. Maybe I could borrow a page from their playbook? 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐏 These line extensions, sprouting from the original series with diverse timelines and nested stories, have really fueled my creative fire. It's a smart way to make the most out of the entire intellectual property, giving beloved characters their own moment (backstory) in the spotlight or weaving their parallel narratives seamlessly alongside the main plot. And it's not just 'The Walking Dead' — there are other shows that have done this too, and I'm a huge fan. You've got 'Powerbook', 'Stargate', 'Star Trek', the 'MCU', 'Star Wars' — the list goes on. It's like these miniverses just keep expanding, giving us more to explore and get lost in. What are your thoughts on creating miniverses and expanding the storylines? My #dream is to facilitate this with ROYALNIFTY - follow us to stay tuned! #tv #IP #miniverses #tvshow #ROYALNIFTY P.S. I originally asked Midjourney to generate a Rick Grimes and Michonne on top of their world, but sadly Midjourney doesn't know a black Michonne... So I resorted to their cover artwork.

If you need a break from wondering if we are on a path toward social catastrophe, this PBS series is food for thought. "This episode emphasizes the fundamental role stories play in our lives, our inclination towards dystopian narratives, and the potential for bigger, better stories to unleash the power of human imagination and creativity moving forward." https://lnkd.in/exiiy5Dn

🌈 Heard of the Miraculous Middle of transitions? Sometimes called the "Messy Middle," the Miraculous Middle (as Suzanne Campi, CPCC, ACC likes to call it) of transitions, is the second part of the 3-part model of transitions from William Bridges. The first part is the ending and the third part is the new beginning. And the second part, a.k.a. the "Messy Middle"...well, that's the liminal space where most of us feel really uncomfortable - especially Gen X'ers who like more clarity, certainty, and progress. But what if that middle part is our greatest opportunity for growth? Think about it: if you went from one ending right to the next beginning, it'd be like cutting out 50 minutes of your favorite 1-hour t.v. drama. That's where all the good stuff happens, even in the midst of the drama. It wouldn't be worth watching otherwise. Tune into Episode 16 of The Gen X Shift this week to learn how to navigate through that Miraculous Middle, no matter what transition you're facing. 🤔 And just curious: have you heard of the Messy or Miraculous Middle before? #genx #thegenxshift #transitions #messymiddle #midlife
