Yesterday we delighted in our June Radiant Leadership session where we explored the theme of SLOW, INTENTIONAL PRODUCTIVITY. 💡 ⚡ How do we ensure that we do less but achieve more? ⚡ How do we make impact without exhaustion? ⚡ How do we recognise and take responsibility for where we have bought into hustle culture and toxic productivity? ⚡ How do we choose a new path when society STILL rewards busy? Some of the juicy topics we discussed: 👉 CLARITY IS KEY! More often than not the busy, hustle comes from the fact that the work has not been done up front to define what is important in your role and what success looks like for you and your organisation. 🛣 👉 Noticing how our struggle to say “no” and therefore stretch ourselves too thinly / pull ourselves off track is tied to our self worth. How much worthiness are you putting on your ability to get ‘loads of shit done’? And at what cost? 😳 👉 As we climb up the leadership ladder we need to move ‘off the dancefloor and onto the balcony’ - spending less time doing and more time thinking, observing, communicating and leading. But the balcony feels like a harder place to be so we avoid it! 💃 👉 We need to stop being a slave to our people - we can be kind, compassionate leaders and still have solid boundaries! Where is your kindness facilitating dependent teams? Fantastic observations. The most common in my sessions in definitely number 3. Helicoptering out. Going from specialist to generalist. Your dancefloor/balcony analogy is most excellent!
