Launette Woolforde’s Post

Indeed the sky is full of brilliant stars and the future holds the torch of brightness. That was affirmed as I rounded at Northwell Health - Glen Cove Hospital. Clinical nurse Teri reminded me of the joy of nursing. She was so well organized in the care of her patients - clearly communicating with and caring for them and their families as we went in and out her patients rooms. She provided a thorough presentation of her patients during interdisciplinary rounds advocating for treatments she felt would benefit her patients healing. She was caring and compassionate and a champion for excellence across many nurse sensitive indicators. Thank you Teri! Thank you Christian, NM whose leadership and engagement was so evident. I’m glad I was able to round quickly in the Periop area with their dynamic leader Tameka Wallace. The strides being made there are so exciting! I’m looking forward to spending more time there when I’m on site again. Happy Periop Nurses Week to periop nurses everywhere! I even had the opportunity to meet and talk with Diamond, a float nurse who was taking in a day of enrichment and professional development so she can sharpen her toolkit and improve care delivery. Patients are in good hands at Glen Cove Hospital! Thank you one and all for all that you do.
