China unicorns 2024. 🇨🇳🦄 ByteDance has clinched the title of the world's largest unicorn company for the third year in a row. It boasts a valuation of 1.56 trillion yuan, according to Hurun's Global Unicorn Index 2024. More below. 🦄 SpaceX follows in second place with a value of 1.28 trillion yuan, while OpenAI has soared to third place with 710 billion yuan. 🦄 The research institute listed non-public companies worldwide founded after 2000 and valued at over US$1 billion. 🦄 The top 10 saw a combined growth value of 1.4 trillion yuan, nearly half of the total growth on the list. What’s the unicorn scene like in China? 👇 China is home to 369 unicorns, with over a quarter involved in AI and semiconductors. ✔️ These Chinese unicorns have an average valuation of US$3.8 billion.
