It was established by the United Nations to raise awareness about human trafficking, promote and protect the rights of trafficking victims, and encourage efforts to combat trafficking globally. The day highlights the importance of justice and the need for coordinated international responses to prevent trafficking, support victims, and prosecute offenders. It also serves to remind everyone of the critical role of governments, civil society, and individuals in fighting human trafficking. As we approach the 10th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on 30 July 2024, it is crucial to address the shortcomings and accelerate action to #EndHumanTrafficking.
