In this quest for knowledge, I came across a profound Subhashitam that beautifully illustrates the essence of the learning process: आचार्यात् पादमादत्ते पादं शिष्यः स्वमेधया । सब्रह्मचारिभ्यः पादं पादं कालक्रमेण च ॥ "A student gains a quarter of knowledge from their teacher, another quarter through personal effort, a further quarter through collaborative work with fellow students, and the remaining quarter through experience over time." This doesn't mean it is exactly one-fourth from each. That may depend upon individual cases - how good the teacher, classmates/peers, own intelligence, or environment is. Reflecting on this, it's fascinating to realize that 50% of learning is attributed to group/team efforts and individual projects—a timeless wisdom echoing across centuries! In modern education system, student-teacher relationship, undue blame on teacher or students for below expectation results.
