Here’s a breakdown and evaluation of the key metrics that will help us determine the fastest VMG and which team might be the fastest overall. Race 1 - Round Robin 13 (RR1 R13) • INEOS Britannia: • Max Speed: 45.22 knots • Average Speed: 34.12 knots • Distance Sailed: 24,171 meters • Time Taken: 22m 57s • Wind Range: 7.93 knots - 12.57 knots • Orient Express Racing Team: • Max Speed: 44.02 knots • Average Speed: 34.09 knots • Distance Sailed: 24,424 meters • Time Taken: 22m 56s • Wind Range: 8.67 knots - 12.23 knots Race 2 - Round Robin 14 (RR1 R14) • Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team: • Max Speed: 45.69 knots • Average Speed: 35.87 knots • Distance Sailed: 24,495 meters • Time Taken: 22m 08s • Wind Range: 10.08 knots - 15.16 knots • Alinghi Red Bull Racing: • Max Speed: 43.36 knots • Average Speed: 35.06 knots • Distance Sailed: 24,401 meters • Time Taken: 22m 26s • Wind Range: 9.45 knots - 14.02 knots Race 3 - Round Robin 15 (RR1 R15) • Emirates Team New Zealand: • Max Speed: 41.24 knots • Average Speed: 33.27 knots • Distance Sailed: 24,823 meters • Time Taken: 24m 10s • Wind Range: 8.89 knots - 12.10 knots • NYYC American Magic: • Max Speed: 41.94 knots • Average Speed: 33.38 knots • Distance Sailed: 25,387 meters • Time Taken: 24m 29s • Wind Range: 8.49 knots - 12.84 knots Analysis and Evaluation: • Fastest VMG: The fastest VMG can be approximated based on the combination of distance sailed and time taken. Although precise VMG values aren’t provided, we can infer that higher average speeds combined with shorter times generally indicate better VMG. • Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team had the highest average speed (35.87 knots) and one of the shortest completion times (22m 08s) in the strongest wind conditions. This suggests they likely had the fastest VMG. • INEOS Britannia also performed well with a high average speed of 34.12 knots and a slightly longer completion time than Luna Rossa, but in lower wind conditions. • Fastest Team: Given the data: • Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team seems to be the fastest overall based on their high speeds and efficient race completion time in stronger winds. Their performance suggests that they are optimizing their boat speed and angle effectively to maximize VMG. • INEOS Britannia is also a strong contender, particularly in lighter wind conditions, showing solid performance and high speed. Conclusion: Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team seems to have the edge based on today’s data, likely achieving the highest VMG and demonstrating their capability in varying wind conditions. However, INEOS Britannia is close behind and could challenge depending on future race conditions. This analysis gives a strong indication that Luna Rossa might currently be the fastest team, especially in stronger wind conditions. 1. #AC75Performance 2. #SailingAnalytics 3. #RaceMetrics 4. #VMGAnalysis 5. #SailingChampions High-Performance Sailing Analyser 2.0

"So, when can you start?" The Ducati ride that started it all : When you're Adrian Newey, arguably one of the best Formula 1 designers, chances are - you won't have to take an interview. But for once in his life - he had to (sort of). After his graduation in 1980, the 22-year-old Brit applied for various jobs - but was met with the catch-22 answer of 'we don’t hire people without experience.' Soon, he got a call from Harvey 'Doc' Postlethwaite, one of Formula 1's top motorsport engineers who was at Fittipaldi then, for an interview. While at the office, Harvey noticed Newey in the waiting room, dressed up in his leather riding gear : "Oh, you’ve got a motorbike! What bike have you got?" "A Ducati 900 SS", Adrian replied. Harvey then asked if he could take it out for a ride - Adrian obliged, of course. He went off on the Ducati for about 15 minutes, came back with a grin plastered on his face, took his helmet off and asked: "So, when can you start?" Adrian immediately joined Harvey at Fittipaldi - and over the course of the next 44 years, worked with teams like March, Haas Lola, Newman-Haas, Williams Racing, and McLaren Racing before finally joining Red Bull Racing & Red Bull Technology in 2006 - forever changing the sport, in a lot of ways. 13 x Drivers' championships 12 x Constructors' championships 119 x Race wins - and all of this started with that 15-minute Ducati ride :) #Motorsports #F1 #Formula1 #F101 #AdrianNewey

LOT 38 <> Jean-Pierre Osenat Osenat Alfa Romeo 1969 ALFA ROMEO TIPO 33/2 "DAYTONA" Estimate: 2,000,000 - 2,500,000 EUR 1969 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 "Daytona" Chassis: 75033009 2l engine: number 015 2.5l engine: number 20 00 42 The Alfa Romeo 33 marked the brand's return to the highest level of motor sport. At the end of 1951, Alfa Romeo withdrew from all international competition, and the famous Disco Volante, destined to race in the 1952 Le Mans 24-hour race, never made it. In the early '60s, with the collaboration of Autodelta, Alfa Romeo returned to racing success with the fabulous GTA, TZ and TZ2. These successes prompted Alfa Romeo to consider a return to international competition. In September 1964, the 105.33 project was launched. In September 1965, the first prototype equipped with the TZ2 engine was produced. For the engine, the engineers opted for a two-liter V8, secretly developed during the '50s. Intended for racing in the Sport Prototype championship, the 33 was the second Alfa Romeo to be fitted with a mid-rear engine, after the Tipo 512 in 1939. After intensive development on the Balloco track, the car was ready. On March 6, 1967, the car was entered in the Fléron hill-climb in Belgium. The event marked Alfa Romeo's triumphant return to the highest level. Unfortunately, the reliability of this first 33 was not to be. Carlo Chiti redesigned the car from top to bottom, and the cars built to date were also modified. The 33 B made its debut at the 1968 Daytona 24 Hours, winning the under 2000 cm3 class. Following this success, the car was quickly dubbed the 33/2 Daytona. At the end of the 1968 season, autodelta stopped running the 33/2, concentrating its efforts on the future 33/3. All 33/2s were then sold to satellite teams and to the brand's various European importers. In 1969, SOFAR, the Alfa Romeo importer in France, acquired three Alfa Romeo 33/2s to promote the brand in France. These cars competed in the Sport Prototype championship, as well as in France's top events. The 75033009 chassis is one of them. It has the exceptional distinction of having been registered on 14/10/1969 by SOFAR under the number 8270 VW 75. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale

LOT 136 Dubai <> RM Sotheby's Sotheby's Motorsport 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale Estimate $200,000 - $250,000 USD | Dubai, United Arab Emirates Chassis No. ZFFDT57B000138732 Engine No. 85949 To be offered on Friday, 8 March 2024 Finished in Argento Nürburgring with desirable “no stripe” exterior finish Delivered new to Italy via the official Ferrari dealer, Rossocorsa S.r.l. One of only 1,288 to leave the Ferrari factory Retains its matching-numbers 3.6-litre V-8 engine Odometer reads only 21,516 kilometres A highly desirable road car that can also be enjoyed on the race track Heavily based on the 360 Modena that entered production in 1999, the Challenge Stradale was positioned as a track-capable road car tailored by Ferrari for an anticipated 80:20 split of road-to-track use. With weight-saving measures including Plexiglass door windows, Alcantara seat fabric instead of leather, and forgoing the installation of a radio, the Challenge Stradale tipped the scales some 110 kilograms less than the Modena. Carbon-ceramic brakes were equipped as standard, improving both handling and braking performance by eliminating brake fade and shedding 16 kilograms of unsprung weight. A total output of 425 horsepower allowed the Ferrari to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.1 seconds, mere split-seconds behind the track-only 360 Challenge that carried the mantle for the long-running, single-marque Ferrari Challenge motorsport series. Indeed, the ‘Stradale’ take on the Challenge badge gave drivers a chance to experience the purest and fastest iteration of the already-dazzling 360 Modena on the road. Ferrari ultimately built 1,288 examples of the prodigious 360-based Challenge Stradale, becoming an instant classic with Maranello racing connoisseurs. The example on offer here left the factory finished in Argento Nürburgring and was delivered to its first owner via the Milan-based official Ferrari dealer, Rossocorsa S.r.l. on 16 September 2004, according to its accompanying Warranty Card. It is believed that the car stayed with its first owner until December 2011, after which it was exported from Italy. From then it is understood that the Challenge Stradale has had just one other owner in the Middle East. This Challenge Stradale, which retains its matching-numbers engine, is a well-presented example of one of the most desirable variants of the Ferrari 360 Modena; the perennially desirable exterior colour of Argento Nürburgring with the stylish “no stripe” finish and dark red leather interior only adds to its considerable appeal. The car is accompanied by its Ferrari factory manuals and tyre inflation kit, while the odometer reads 21,516 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. #classic #classics #classiccars #collectorcars #carcollectors #historic #vintage #performance #racing #rallying #driving #car #cars #automotiveindustry #auto #autos #autoindustry #auction #forsale #sold #automotive #investment #privatesale

#designedinitaly Alfa Romeo has a rich and storied history in Formula One, spanning several decades. Let’s explore their journey: Early Success (1950s): - Alfa Romeo was one of the founding members of Formula One in 1950. - They entered the first season with their pre-war Alfetta cars. - The team dominated the competition, winning six out of seven races. - Italian driver Nino Farina became the first-ever Formula One World Champion in 1950, securing the drivers’ title for Alfa Romeo. - In 1951, Alfa Romeo continued their success, with legendary driver Juan Manuel Fangio winning the championship for the team. Intermittent Participation: - After their early triumphs, Alfa Romeo withdrew from Formula One. - During the 1960s, although they had no official presence, several Formula One teams used independently developed Alfa Romeo engines to power their cars. 1970s: Engine Supplier and Return as a Constructor: - In the early 1970s, Alfa provided Formula One support for their works driver Andrea de Adamich. - They supplied adapted versions of their 3-litre V8 engine from the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3 sports car to power Adamich’s McLaren (1970) and March (1971) entries. - Although these engine combinations didn’t score championship points, Alfa Romeo’s presence was felt. - In the mid-1970s, Alfa engineer Carlo Chiti designed a flat-12 engine to replace the T33 V8. - This engine achieved success in taking the 1975 World Sportscar Championship. Bernie Ecclestone, owner of the Brabham Formula One team, persuaded Alfa Romeo to supply this engine for free during the 1976 Formula One season. - The Brabham-Alfa Romeo cars performed well, with 14 podium finishes in the 1977 and 1978 World Championships, including two race victories for Niki Lauda. Second Spell as a Constructor (1979–1985): - Alfa Romeo’s sporting department, Autodelta, returned as the works team in 1979. - However, this second period as a constructor was less successful than the first. - Between their return and withdrawal as a constructor at the end of 1985, Alfa works drivers did not win a race, and the team never finished higher than sixth in the World Constructors’ Championship. Recent Commercial Partnerships: - Alfa Romeo returned to Formula One as a commercial partner between 2015 and 2023. - Managed by Sauber, the team operated under the name Alfa Romeo F1 during this period. - While they didn’t achieve championship titles, their legacy and impact on the sport remain significant. In summary, Alfa Romeo’s journey in Formula One is a blend of triumphs, challenges, and enduring passion for motorsport.

🏆Monaco Grand Prix 2024 🏆24 Hours of Le Mans 2024 In a remarkable feat, Scuderia Ferrari has shattered a 90-year record by clinching victories at both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in the same year. Two of the three races that make up the coveted "Triple Crown of Motorsport" are Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix. Winning one of these races is impressive on its own, but building a race team that can win both in the same year is extremely difficult, yet equally impressive. The fact that Ferrari can meet both obstacles in 2024 bodes well for the Scuderia's racing ambitions. 🏆Indianapolis 500 ???? While Ferrari has conquered two-thirds of the Triple Crown, the elusive Indianapolis 500 remains. Active drivers like Juan Pablo Montoya and Fernando Alonso have won two of the three events, needing an Indy 500 victory to complete the trifecta. Rooting for the team🤝 #Ferrari #ScuderiaFerrari #Monaco #LeMans

The end of an era. 1957's 1000 Miglia and Ferrari's Heritage 1957 marked the conclusion of an extraordinary chapter in the history of motorsport: it was when the last edition of the legendary Mille Miglia took place, a race that for thirty years had defined the essence of road racing, mixing skill, courage and technological innovation. For Enzo Ferrari and his team, that race represented not only a win, but also an emotional and strategic turning point in motor racing. With its 1,000-miles (approx. 1600 km) route through Italy, from Brescia to Rome and back, it was a race famous for its unique challenges, both for the drivers and the cars. That tested human endurance and automotive innovation, attracting spectators from all over the world. But the 1957 edition would sadly mark the end of this incredible adventure due to a series of fatal accidents, including one that cost the lives of Spanish driver Alfonso de Portago, his co-driver and ten spectators. For Enzo Ferrari, the Mille Miglia had always been more than just a race. It was a manifestation of his love for racing cars and a showcase for the technical superiority and passion that defined his team. Ferrari had already left a big mark on the race, winning several times and setting new records. In 1957, Ferrari came to the race to dominate once more, fielding drivers of the calibre of Piero Taruffi, who would go on to win that last edition, thus writing the last chapter of the Mille Miglia legend. His victory was not only a sporting triumph; it was also a moment of deep reflection for Enzo Ferrari. The tragedy of that year affected him deeply and led him to reconsider his team's approach to racing. Ferrari began to focus even more on driver safety and the sustainability of motor racing, gradually shifting his attention to other prestigious races such as Formula 1, where he was already racing, and the Sports Prototype World Championship. That last year of the Mille Miglia remains a significant moment in the history of motorsport, a symbol of an era when passion and courage merged with speed. For the Drake, it represented a valuable lesson and a new beginning that consolidated his legend in the world of motor racing, making him a pillar of innovation and excellence in motorsport.
