Interesting timing! Especially since the last month or so I've been looking to streamline things a little smoother with trying my hand at scripts and automation. I want to understand this more before I install some AI onto one of my Linux machines https://lnkd.in/gFEkdqga

Generative AI: The Internet revolution, but will it open or close? I just wrapped up an engaging talk by Jim Zemlin on generative AI and the vital importance of openness for its growth! I'm an open-source team all the way! ✊ Here's why: Innovation thrives on openness: Openness fuels collaboration and rapid advancement. Closing the door on tools and data hinders progress for everyone. What were the main points emphasized by Jim Zemlin? ・Transparency builds trust: Openness allows us to understand how these powerful models work, addressing concerns like bias and data privacy. We need to see "under the hood" for responsible use. ・Together is better: Generative AI has the potential to tackle enormous challenges like climate change and disease. We can't do it alone - open collaboration is key to unlocking its full potential. But there's another side to the story: ・Concerns about control: Some argue that open-source models could be misused, raising ethical concerns. We need to balance openness with responsible development. What do you think? Let's keep this conversation going! #generativeAI #opensource #collaboration #futureoftech #AI #discussion Click here to learn more:

Exploring the Staying Power of RAG: Key Insights In the evolving landscape of AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) remains a cornerstone despite advancements in models with large context windows. Here are three key takeaways from Cohere’s latest exploration: 1. Comprehensive Contextual Understanding: RAG uniquely integrates retrieval mechanisms, enabling a deeper and broader understanding by referencing a vast corpus of information not limited to the model's training data. 2. Dynamic Knowledge Updating: Unlike static models, RAG can dynamically pull the most relevant and recent information, ensuring outputs are not only accurate but also up-to-date, which is crucial for applications requiring current knowledge. 3. Versatility Across Applications: The flexibility of RAG in being fine-tuned for specific domains makes it indispensable for specialized tasks where precision and adaptability are key. As AI continues to advance, the relevance of RAG in various complex applications remains undiminished. Running your own private #AI - open source #LLM is pretty easy to setup, about 10 minutes of watching this video will have you up and running across Mac, Linux or Windows. Note it helps greatly if you have a GPU video card on your PC otherwise you'll experience slow performance in responses. (This video has some promotional aspects about it, but I have shared the specific bookmark in the video that you really care about) https://lnkd.in/gecznCzp

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, has been occupying our minds for decades, or even hundreds or thousands of years if we look as far as at Greek mythology and medieval legends. If we focus on AI primarily from the perspective of thinking machines, then the origins will probably lie in the 1940s. But if we look at the real momentum that AI has entered and the visible impact that AI is suddenly starting to have around us, we don’t have to go back more than a few years.

I strongly recommend technologies like this one presented by Krisp, where voices are clearer and much more understandable. I use it along with my interviews to get rid of bad noises like barking dogs, airplanes, and children's sound interruptions. The only thing I would like to see in this application is the possibility of using it on the Linux operating system. Can we get you Krisp to work on Ubuntu? When? #krisp #linux #ubuntu #meeting #job #MIRA #tecnologiasantos https://lnkd.in/dpw-cvxt
