I had to work with the VP of Operations to make the difficult decision to lay off a significant portion of the workforce. Despite the tough call, it was necessary to ensure the survival of the company. The impact was profound; morale among the remaining team members dipped, and productivity initially suffered due to the uncertainty and emotional strain. However, over time, the decision allowed the company to stabilize financially, enabling it to refocus its efforts and eventually grow stronger, albeit with a smaller team.
