Just reviewed the documents for Quarto (qmd), which is the next generation of rmarkdown (rmd) for generating reproducible reports. It seems that while there are some improvements in rendering report layouts with Quarto, the enhancements compared to rmarkdown aren't significant (at least for me as an existing rmarkdown user). However, since Posit has announced they'll no longer update rmd, I would recommend still testing out qmd to get the most updated features. For data scientists unfamiliar with rmarkdown, it's a tool that generates reports directly from scripts, saving you a ton of time by eliminating the need to manually copy and paste from script outputs to create reports. It's a significant efficiency booster.
