💥 The AI ecosystem is booming. However, as software advances, developing hardware that enables that software is just as important. - 💭 A key takeaway from #mwc and #4YFN was the nuance between the types of AI technology displayed at both conferences. Walking around MWC (the more corporate conference), showcases focused on infrastructure enabling AI and software. For example, GIGABYTE's AI server is equipped with NVIDIA and Supermicro GPU computing modules. MediaTek's T300 serves as a low-power 5G RedCap platform for the IoT, which adopts the M60 5G modem, supporting 3GPP Release 17. Whereas at 4YFN (the startup conference), the technology on show was primarily AI software built on top of major models or hardware showcased at MWC. 🤔 Does this reveal a gap the venture ecosystem is missing when it comes to AI? As software advances (think GPT-20), hardware has to keep up. Think advancements in semiconductor manufacturing, specialized AI chips, high-performance memory/storage/interconnects, efficient power/cooling, advanced packaging, tailored software tools, and industry-wide collaboration to enable computational capabilities. Does this mean that software-only solutions will become obsolete in the future?
