In the realm of education, the well-being of teachers deserves heightened attention, regardless of the type of school. While the focus often centers on students, neglecting the mental health of educators can have far-reaching consequences. Teachers, as architects of the future, bear the weight of sculpting young minds, and the stress they endure impacts the quality of education provided. Unreasonable expectations and inadequate support towards teachers not only hamper their professional fulfillment but also detrimentally affect the learning environment for students. Recognizing and prioritizing the mental health of teachers is not just a matter of empathy; it is an essential investment in the sustainability and success of our educational systems.

Students' mental health needs: problems and responses. Students, throughout their educational journey, can experience challenges to their mental health. This is a situation potentially amplified when finally reaching higher education with accompanying pressures. Higher education often fosters environments, in which achievement is highly valued - outcome curricula, typically encourages competitive and perfectionist cultures. Considerable strain on personal resources, can result in periods of imbalances in wellbeing - sometimes unrecognised, overlooked or, at worst, viewed with judgement. Educational staff require specific training regarding the emotional health of learners and student services adequately resourced. This book edited by Nicky Stanley and colleagues, makes a case for appropriate responses to learners' emotional needs. https://lnkd.in/eukfevUi
