As the Bureau of Meteorology warned of heat waves in Victoria and Western Sydney, and extreme heat waves in NT and Northern QLD this coming week, I reflected on the Extreme heat preparedness gathering that I spoke at this past Tuesday, organised by Austalian Red Cross and the Local Council. These predicted temperatures in the next few days is not normal for this time of the year. Thank you for the Australian Red Cross Cross for this timely gathering and hope that advice from BOM, Red Cross, council officers, a Western Sydney academic and myself on Heat health will keep communities safe as they would know what to do. The focus was cheap, easy way to Beat the Heat. Eilish Maguire NSW Health City of Canterbury Bankstown Khizar Ashraf Sweltering Cities Melinda Stephen Australian Red Cross
