🌟 What’s the real impact of bringing interns into our workplace? 🌟 As I start this Monday, it’s a bit odd not having Thomas Hall around after he completed his final day with us on Friday. Interns bring fresh perspectives and energy to our teams, and they also offer us valuable lessons in leadership and mentorship. From my experience leading Thomas Hall and Harvey Parkes this year, having interns on board teaches us: 💡 Empowerment Through Initiative: Allowing interns to take ownership and make mistakes helps them—and us—grow. It’s all about creating a culture where experimentation and different perspectives are encouraged. 📒 The Art of Delegation: Effective delegation isn’t just about assigning tasks; it’s about guiding and supporting others to build their skills while enhancing our own leadership abilities. 🌱 Mutual Growth: The process of mentoring interns can reveal our own strengths and areas for improvement, making it a truly reciprocal experience. Watching Tom and Harvey evolve from cautious newcomers to confident, proactive team members has been incredibly rewarding. Their openness to feedback and willingness to step out of their comfort zones have shown me just how transformative investing in early talent can be. I’m so proud to see how far they’ve come and deeply thankful for their hard work. While I’m sad to see Thomas Hall move on, I’m excited to see what Harvey Parkes will achieve as he continues with us part-time. I'm also thrilled to be leading Global Learning and Development's FY25 Intern Program. I hope this encourages you to support the most junior members of your team too - you might find that the rewards go both ways! 🚀 #Internship #TeamGrowth #Leadership #Mentorship #FutureLeaders

Behind every 'everything is okay', specially when a senior in the workplace is asking for suggestions on a particular project; lies untapped potential. It's time to recognize the impact of our contributions, no matter our role. Speaking up, even as interns, can shape organizations and foster personal growth. Let's embrace the power of constructive feedback. #ProfessionalGrowth #ImpactfulContributions Now, here are a few suggestions that I believe should be kept in mind by interns: 1. Interns bring fresh perspectives and valuable insights, making their feedback crucial for organizational improvement. #InternInsights 2. Offering suggestions as an intern not only benefits the company but also showcases initiative and leadership potential. #LeadershipDevelopment 3. Interns who actively contribute ideas for improvement demonstrate their commitment to excellence and willingness to learn, setting themselves apart in the workplace. #ContinuousImprovement

Yesterday, ResMed #interns got to participate in an Executive Mentorship Lunch. Interns got to ask whatever was on our minds. Here's what I learned from the answers: ✨️ Stay curious. 🧩 How you act can matter more than what you know. ✨️ Learn about corporate structure/environment. 🧩 Mistakes should be shared early—own it. ✨️ Know your weaknesses. 🧩 "Work to live, don't live to work." ✨️ Be positive. 🧩 Be empathetic. If you aren't naturally, then learn how. ✨️Treat people well. 🧩Get out of your comfort zone. ✨️ It's okay to say "I don't know". 🧩 Always be learning. Big thanks to the executive members for sharing their knowledge. It's one thing to see advice on blogs and social media, but it's another to hear it directly from company leaders. 👥Michael "Mick" Farrell, Carlos Nunez, Michael Fliss, Rahul Sharma, Sanjay Kumar, and Mike Rider

Building Meaningful Industry-Student Connections From a corporate standpoint, engaging with universities and students is more than just recruitment—it’s about shaping tomorrow’s workforce. Many organizations I closely work with, are increasingly recognizing the value of collaborating with educational institutions to develop talent pipelines aligned with industry needs. What’s even more exciting? Many companies are experimenting with innovative strategies like mentorship programs, on-campus projects, and customized internships to not only attract top talent but also nurture it. The result? A win-win for students eager to learn and businesses looking for fresh, diverse perspectives. Are the corporate leaders, doing enough to build these meaningful connections? There’s always room to do more. #CorporateOutreach #FutureLeaders #FutureWorkforce
