One of the key facets of search in AI Overviews and regular SERPs: more personalisation. I'm seeing more and more of these 'You visit often' labels on Google Search Results in the UK. - Purpose: Highlights websites frequently visited by users. - Benefit: Makes it easier for users to find their preferred sites quickly. - Rollout: Began in December 2023 in the US, but now in the UK? - Goal: Enhances personalised search experience by prioritising frequently visited sites in search snippets.

Google blue links are finally changing. One of the most important announcements of Google's I/O 2024 was Google Search, driven by generative AI (and competition!). The most significant changes in the platform over the last decade. Here’s why: 1. Integration of Multi-Step Reasoning: ask complex, layered questions as a conversation. 2. AI Overviews in search: AI-generated summaries and insights directly in search results. 3. Enhanced planning and customisation: Google search can now be your personal assistant, with detailed suggestions. 4. AI-Organised results pages: dynamically organised information into themes. 5. Enhanced video understanding: It is now a comprehensive tool for information retrieval across different formats, such as audio and video. These updates change Google Search to an intelligent assistant that anticipates user needs. It also marks a shift for advertisers and content creators - who will have to change their existing approaches to monetise their businesses. It is unclear what these changes mean, but the opportunities to grow an already sizeable market are endless. #GoogleIO2024 #SearchReimagined #MultimodalSearch #AIUpdates #TechTrends2024 #IntelligentSearch #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfSearch

Google launched a new “Web” filter that shows only text-based links. The Web filter appears on mobile devices predominantly. If you search for something and click the Web filter, it removes all the video and image search results. This filter is helpful if you prefer only text-based results in your search. I'm just wondering if there will be a filter that separates - Human vs AI 😅

Google Won’t Commit To AI Search Traffic Data In Search Console Google won’t commit to providing websites with Search Console data on traffic generated from AI search results. Google CEO dodged questions about providing granular AI traffic data to publishers. Lack of transparency frustrates publishers who rely on search traffic for revenue. As AI becomes integral to search, Google must collaborate with publishers to find solutions. https://lnkd.in/gXBTn3Js

⁉️𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Answers pushed predictively to you by an AI will end up being the premium and most expensive way marketers sponsor search in the future. This will relegate the current way SEM is done (pulled from search engines by you) to being the bargain basement version of search ad buying, with SEM listings pushed further and further down the pecking order. #search #ai

SearchGPT won’t beat Google—here’s why: While SearchGPT is impressive, it misses some basics. For example, when asked about the latest conference speakers, it gave last year's list instead. From the beta testing, it's clear that SearchGPT isn't better than Google. What's more likely? Google will add AI-powered search to its existing results, giving users both regular search and AI insights. #CreativerseAgency #marketingtips #marketingtrends #viralmarketing
