Bringing people together in person to collaborate might just be the greatest multiplier for innovation that exists today. Maybe even bigger than #AI! George Bernard Shaw once said one of the greatest truths: “The greatest problem in communication is the illusion that it has been accomplished.” I’ve seen this play out first hand in my career, in my personal and family life, in Conway law, on sports teams, and pretty much everywhere else. Without collaboration it’s hard to have “joy and flow”. The new leader of Social Security Administration (and former Mayor and Governor) Martin J. O’Malley said in his book Smarter Government “ if you keep bringing people together, regularly and consistently, two pictures emerge: the picture of what is; and the picture of what can be - if we chose to do something about it.” People have been asking me a lot lately “What’s with the #redshoes?” Well to me the red shoes stand as a symbol of a #MasterCollaborator at work and being a catalyst for change. My super power is my love and passion for bringing people together and helping them communicate and be vulnerable together to solving the most difficult challenges. In his book “The Culture Code” Dan Coyle writes “Being vulnerable together is the only way a team can become invulnerable”. By bringing people together (in person) we can build high performing teams with trust and vulnerability. A little food always helps! So meet in person, collaborate, and solve problems together. If you make the routine simple, the difficult then becomes possible. #CollaborationDrivesInnovation #TogetherIsBetter #redshoes

8moI thought the red shoes were just something you bought because you worked for Red Hat. Great to see you’re getting “traction” with them in your new career, too.
