The best part of being a Life Coach who works on Authenticity, is the opportunity I get to learn from those, who lead the most authentic of lives. One such tribe is that of #teachers. Yesterday I had the most amazing privilege of working with some remarkable educators at Spring Canyon Middle School and it reinforced for me yet again why they remain our greatest superheroes. When we talk about authenticity, we talk about the constancy of change as we evolve into better versions of our selves. We talk about acknowledging limiting beliefs that hold us back from this, or motivators that push us forward. This is not rocket science for anyone who has vested some conscious time in self development and inner work. What blows my mind though is how teachers, even when traversing their own journeys, help their students accomplish this very goal in so many diverse ways. To constantly bridge these gaps within and outside themselves, and to do so effortlessly needs patience and tenacity, of monumental proportions. Take a bow ladies. Another way to approach this is to say, "we're always in class, but we have to pay attention in order to pass." What I'm getting at is that life has endless lessons to teach us, but we will always miss out on them if we are not paying attention. If you're wise, you'll understand that sustainable success demands that you're always a "student", no matter how high you rise in the ranks. It's in embracing this "studious" approach to life that you catch life's lessons and it's in the capturing of those lessons that you exponentially expand your opportunity for growth. Stay sharp. My Mumbaikar friend used to say that in Mumbai local trains, if you try to board the overfilled train just about to leave, you need to use judgment. And if you used poor judgment, those inside will pull you in and then say something to the effect, "i will give you a slap next time you do it like that"... Its a different way of being friendly but with immense respect for the capabilities of others. In my observation, while I have been good at some things, in a 1000 different things others trump me 10x. So my stance to others has always been that figure it out buddy, struggle a bit. And when you are really in trouble I will help and maybe a friendly slap for having managed it bad. Now personally I have preferred that Others treat me similarly. Yes it is difficult to be on the receiving end of this. But I struggle and manage somehow. Because I get the rationale of this. This approach is more scalable. So in these days of bleeding hearts, political correctness and snowflakes, and heart-in-eyes icon social media feeds, be a little reflectively arrogant, be a little carefully uncaring, little observantly unavailable. People manage. So do dogs, birds etc. I dont mean to say destroy the Platforms we stand on, whether they be Social or Ecological Relationships, but the Platforms dont need to be bed of roses... Sorry for some occasional gyan. But you already knew this... #resilience #weekendruminations
