I've got a Samsung Phone. The other day, after an update, they took away the standard Samsung SMS app, and shoved the #Google alternative down my throat, which required a Google login, of course. It's an SMS app. I use it for talking to my family and friends without the sh*t. Five days later, a new message. "Hey it's Gemini, let's chat!" No. F'N. Way. I use these tools on my terms. It's the absolute 𝙇𝘼𝙎𝙏 thing I want in my SMS message app is a blowhard AI. Google is trying to cram yet more #AI features down the throats of users, because they are apparently not getting the kind of adoption they're looking for. Force updating user device, I'm assuming via strong arming #Samsung, into making a worse experience for users. "Block, report as Spam." #artificialinteligence #devices #phone #forcedadoption #slop
That's such a bitter paradox. I mean AI for chat... Btw, did you see WhatsApp has got it already? Keeps prompting me with responses before I type. I really really despise it atm. 🥺😔😞😓
I still have the standard SMS app on my Samsung. Did they completely get rid of it? Maybe check your disabled apps if they threw it there?
“Let’s chat” 😳 A shiver came down my back. That’s what tech horror movies are made of.
I agree and find this new trend of forced AI totally disgusting.
Same boat. I also had to disable the super-annoying word suggestions - activated with another update - of the Samsung keyboard... it was wrong ALL the times!! 🙄
Forced usage of #AI is a symptom of a far greater problem. Exploitation and manipulation of humans, their data, creations, relationships, thoughts, biology, and memories will accelerate and advance, until users say no. Informing and empowering humans to have a choice is one of the reasons I started the nonprofit Ascently Institute, Inc. and drafted the #statementofsovereignty Big plans for 2025!
I’m a Google fanboy and still won’t upgrade my Workspace domain with Gemini. Tried it and failed to find it compelling.

1dKris Holland, dare I suggest that this could be the reason people start a new practice: 1. text "can you chat?" 2. make the call and have the conversation again in an encrypted call yes? George Orwell imagined "1984" before its publication in 1949. A #surveillance society well before the technology of today. If Apple this attitude, I'll adopt my new "ritual". And, hope that people will be willing to resume offline communications more often. 🤔 Weird times we are surfing these days--for sure.
