We are very proud to announce, Sirona Technologies has secured a €6M seed round led by #XAnge and LocalGlobe. Sirona is another of the alumni of our #ClimateFellowship. Founded By Thoralf Gutierrez, and Gauthier LIMPENS, they are reversing climate change on a massive scale. 🌍 How are they tackling this global challenge? Through Direct Air Capture (DAC), which removes carbon dioxide from the air. Sirona's machines draw in air through fans and trap CO2 molecules using specialized filters. The captured carbon dioxide is then injected and stored permanently in rock formations, where it eventually transforms into rock. In their first year, Sirona Technologies built three generations of prototypes to capture 1 ton of CO2 per year. And today, they are building the next generation capable of capturing 20 times that amount by July. Each iteration comes with better performance, reduced costs and increased scale. 🚀 This infusion of capital will give Sirona Technologies the fuel to scale up its technology and deploy its first pilot plant in Kenya. Turquoise Group awarded $949,500 Australian Federal Grant to drive graphene manufacturing innovation. Turquoise Group has been awarded a $949,500 grant from the Australian Federal Government under the Industry Growth Program’s Commercialisation and Growth initiative. This grant supports innovative small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in advancing projects aligned with National Reconstruction Fund (NRF) priority areas. Turquoise Group has been collaborating with the Industry Growth Program since April 2024 Tony Aitchison. Our project “Commercialising Graphene Manufacturing” focuses on accelerating our commercial demonstration program to drive growth in graphene sales and expand our customer base. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership brings to further strengthen our position in the global graphene market. We extend our thanks to the Australian Federal Government for their recognition and continued support in advancing the graphene manufacturing industry. 🌍 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘁 On Tuesday (22 Oct), our Project Coordinator Igor Balaz, along with Roberto Teti and Alessandra Caggiano from our consortium partner Smart Sensing, attended the 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 in Stuttgart. ✨ This one-day event focused on the 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 and 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 of biointelligent manufacturing solutions that aim to overcome the shortcomings of current production systems. By integrating 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 🧬🔧💻, biointelligence offers innovative approaches to optimize production without compromising prosperity. 🌐🌿 Attendees explored global perspectives on the 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 and gained 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 into biointelligent manufacturing. 🌎🔍 Our team used this congress as a valuable networking platform 🤝 to connect with others working in similar fields. They met with project coordinators of two other projects funded under the same #HorizonEurope call (Development of technologies/devices for bio-intelligent manufacturing) — Ralf Takors of the BIOS project and Yannick Baumgarten of the BioProS project — and discussed possibilities for 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 🤝📡 The Biointelligence Congress provided valuable insights and opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in shaping sustainable solutions for the future. #biointelligence #biomeld #innovation #sustainability #biotechnology #networking
