Last Thursday, PwC Singapore held a closed door breakfast roundtable with our Alliance Partner Workiva and valued clients across functions such as Finance, Risk, and ESG where we discussed current opportunities and challenges on ESG and how technology can be used to solve data and reporting dilemmas.  This engaging session marks only the beginning of our journey towards harnessing the power of assured integrated and automated reporting, driven by a #HumanLed and #TechEnabled strategy. Expertly moderated by Eu-Lin Fang and Sammie Leung, key takeaways from the roundtable include: 🌳 The differences in standards will not go away, including rating agencies. What can we do to advocate? 🖥 As data issues are multi-faceted, organisations should address the challenges but recognise that this is a journey. 💹 Engagement between finance and sustainability teams need to have clear joint accountability aligning to different themes. When we think of double materiality assessments and integrated reporting across functions, it is more pertinent now more than ever before to consider solutions that allow for assured integrated reporting that is traceable, auditable and provide confidence to leaders. The synergy between finance and sustainability teams brings to mind a poignant quote by poet Rumi, highlighted by Eu-Lin, “somewhere beyond right and wrong, there is a garden. I will meet you there”. In today's world, the paramount objective for finance and sustainability teams is to cultivate and subsequently nurture this garden.
