DON't MISS IT! TOMORROW Tuesday 5th March our series of Winter Webinars continues with Dr James Poysky. James is a regular and always popular speaker at our Annual International Conferences and this webinar will focus on "Maximising Psychosocial Health in DMD". "Caring for the physical/medical aspects of Duchenne can be stressful enough, but when a child with DMD also has behavioural, learning, and emotional challenges, it can feel like too much to manage. However, there are robust interventions, treatments, and supports that can help with these things, and can improve the entire family’s quality of life. This session will provide an overview of the role of DMD in these challenges, the most common problems that tend to occur, and what is available to make life better. Although the information covered during this session will be at a summary level, several examples of strategies that parents can use at home to manage behaviour will also be discussed in a more specific way (e.g., responding to angry outbursts/arguing)." We know this topic will resonate with many of our families and we hope you will join us. Day2 HLTH Inc. and Dr. Ashwin Vasan Lisa Morozoff Kathleen M. Pike Xi (Sisi) Hu Nikole Benders-Hadi, M.D. discussing mental health in the work place. My take aways from the panellists: ➡️ In the US mental health is a long neglected issue and is ripe for innovation and partnership. ➡️There is a massive supply and demand mismatch ➡️The field is pretty early stage when it comes to evidence of impact and value. ➡️Its not easy for employers to work out what works but the new Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI) could make a big difference ➡️ Remember the 3 Ps - protection (create a safe work place), promote (ensure working practices promote positive mental health) and provision (provide the right support to those who need it). We need all 3. ➡️ There is a strong financial argument to make for the cost of doing nothing! But - no mention of neurodivergent employees by any of the panelists. #HLTH #mentalhealth

At Brightline, we're deeply committed to youth mental health care, and our exceptional team plays a vital role in fulfilling that commitment. Brightline execs are passionate about elevating youth mental health care and steadfast in their cause. In this month's Bright Minds feature, we're thrilled to introduce you to Brightline Chief Clinical Officer - Myra Altman, PhD., as she shares her insights on supporting youth mental health by increasing access. "We are experiencing an unprecedented youth mental health crisis and it is critical to think holistically about how to care for all youth. An important part of this is making sure that we are meeting youth and families where they are with services that feel approachable to them. This means thinking about prevention as well as clinical supports and services. In the realm of prevention this question to me is about how do we support kids before their concerns rise to the level of clinical need - there is now great data that supports the use of coaching for these needs, which is an incredible step forward for the field that Brightline really helped pioneer. And then of course providing high quality and evidence-based clinical services for those who need it. Having all these services available in one platform is also really important for ensuring that people have access to the right care over time as their needs evolve." Myra stewards Brightline's commitment to clinical quality, provider satisfaction, clinical research, overall care model development, and safe innovation for care services.
