𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 + 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 Linking the arts to health benefits makes it easier to understand the topic as something everyone should have access to. Doctors are taking seriously the concrete and surprising physical health benefits, so much so that they are prescribing arts experiences. This approach reinforces the idea that lack of funding for the arts in a community amounts to neglect, which can lead to negative health outcomes. Topos Partnership shares research on how to talk about arts + health to build public understanding and support. An easy read with great comms info, plus a short video of field interviews shows the impact of new framing! https://lnkd.in/gd9ftyYf

We're making exciting strides in Maine to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice, particularly in rural areas where access to timely evidence is challenging. Dr. Elizabeth Jacobs and Lisbeth Balligan are leading a two-year project, funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, to build research dissemination capacity. The focus is on creating an infrastructure for sharing patient-centered outcomes research, initially targeting behavioral health and opioid use disorder treatment. With a Research Dissemination Advisory Panel guiding the effort, the project aims to provide easier access to evidence for rural healthcare organizations, reducing the average 17-year timeline for implementation. This initiative holds the promise of fostering more equitable access to the latest research, thereby addressing rural health disparities in Maine: https://bit.ly/4bHua4a #HealthcareInnovation #RuralHealthcare
