📽 If anyone needs to be convinced about how data and visualization can add insights, understanding and clarity to a situation, they need look no further than this compelling 4 minute video. Hans Rosling's 'Joy of Stats' charts life expectancy and income growth across the world over the past 200 years. His excellent use of data and visualization techniques, introduces a complex and contentious topic in a clear and simple manner. This technique is an example to anyone wanting to use visualisation to support informed, confident business decision making. It's not simply a matter of having the right information in the required quantity - it's what you do with it, how you bring it to life, that really counts. At The Information Factory we're immersed in data and software; developing data analytics, business intelligence and decision support systems for our logistics clients. We're adept at using all sorts of visualisation techniques to turn data raw material into information and insights. But we have never seen anybody explain the power of data quite so clearly as the late, great Hans Rosling. #data #DataAnalytics #DataViz #DataVisualisation #DataStorytelling https://lnkd.in/dPm-BVjD

In our newly published paper in Information Technology & People, my co-authors Ghiyoung Im, Jingqi Celeste Li, Claris Chung, and I developed a process model to illustrate this collaboration.
