Happy Wednesday everyone! To truly optimize the Lean Six Sigma process, ensuring an adequate sample size is paramount. Small samples can yield misleading results, hampering improvement efforts. Here are key challenges associated with insufficient sample sizes: Heightened Risk of Type II Errors: Limited data increases the likelihood of Type II errors, obscuring genuine process differences and hindering improvement opportunities. Unreliable Variability Estimation: Small samples may inaccurately represent process variability, leading to unreliable data. Misleading Root Cause Identification: Inadequate sample sizes skew the identification of true root causes, diverting focus from essential areas of improvement. Reduced Confidence in Results: Minimal sample sizes diminish statistical confidence in results, undermining decision-making. Bottom line: To optimize processes effectively, prioritize gathering robust datasets. This fosters confidence and accuracy, enabling targeted improvement and defect minimization.

#LifeScience manufacturing operations are complex. How do you know you're getting the most out your assets and resources? Could you be operating more efficiently? Value Stream Mapping (VSM) could help remove the uncertainty, improving OpEx - and your bottom line. #OperationalImprovement #Consulting #PharmaceuticalManufacturing
Using value stream maps can help eliminate wasted time, effort, materials and spending on processes. Niranjan Kulkarni, PhD, certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, shares a detailed guide with real-world examples on how to improve operations and increase throughput, quality and speed to market utilizing this lean tool. He outlines the steps to creating a value stream map, the right time to create one, its components and more in his latest Insights blog: https://hubs.la/Q02rK4S10 #Lean #ValueStreamMapping #CRBInsights

My current exploration is on this topic. Does trying to fix certain things actually make it worse? In Process Improvement, with Lean Six Sigma methodology, you always try to first properly Define the Problem (Problem Statement), then Measure it, and only Act once you've understood the Root Cause of the problem. Otherwise, who says you are really fixing anything? Are you aware of all the unwanted consequences of that reactive action? Can you measure these? Now we are talking :) LEAN WASTES Again, remember in Lean Wastes, you have Overproduction as the Mother of all wastes. Why? Because it leads to all the other wastes. FACT-BASED DECISION MAKING If we act before having properly analysed the problem, visualised it and have data in hand, how likely is it that we will hit nail on the head? Got an anecdote you should share? Please do so in the comments. #processimprovement #leansixsigma #rootcauseanalysis

Những lưu ý quan trọng khi đưa ra quyết định đầu tư nói riêng. Nếu ai từng học Lean Six Sigma thì hẳn không lạ các điểm cơ bản này trong phần Hypothesis Testing: “1. What are the MOST CRITICAL & KNOWABLE FACTORS that will cause what I want to achieve or avoid? - Criteria must be based on evidence and be reasonably predictive, i.e., we must do better than chance by relying on them. 2. Try to use as few criteria as NECESSARY to make your judgment. Then RANK them in order of their importance and use them as FILTER. 3. Set DECISION THRESHOLDS in a way that minimizes the likelihood of FALSE ALARMS and MISSES (in investing, choosing a bad investment or missing a good investment). 4. Consider the consequences of being wrong. "

Reminder: All of the 'successful' people you follow here haven't always been successful. They've faced: -Job Loss -Rejection -Hearing "No" -Being Ignored -Feeling Abandoned, Overwhelmed, and Under-resourced. Just like the rest of us. The key difference? They refused to let it hold them back. If this topic interests you, I write a short email to 30,000+ people every Monday on how to apply Lean Six Sigma concepts to business, careers, and our personal lives. Implementing a Six Sigma program can be very expensive and time consuming, distracting from other priorities and initiatives. That's why I recommend starting with one sigma to see how you like it.
