GLDA, or tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, is a new type of green chelating agent. Its chemical name is N,N-bis(carboxymethyl)-L-glutamate tetrasodium salt. It is a light yellow transparent viscous liquid. It is biodegradable and can form stable water-soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium and other ions, so its cleaning ability and decontamination ability are better than phosphates, citrates and the like. In addition, GLDA is also resistant to high temperatures, environmentally friendly, and easy to degrade. In the field of textile auxiliaries, GLDA is mainly used as a metal ion chelating agent to help shield or complex metal ions, thereby improving the quality and processing efficiency of textiles. It can combine with metal ions during the dyeing process to prevent unnecessary reactions between metal ions and dyes, thereby improving the uniformity and stability of dyeing. In addition, GLDA can also be used in the cleaning and pretreatment process of textiles to help remove impurities and stains on the fiber surface, improve the quality and processing efficiency of subsequent processed textiles, and promote the development of the textile industry. It should be noted that although GLDA has a wide range of application prospects in the field of textile auxiliaries, in actual use, it is still necessary to reasonably select and use it according to the specific textiles and processing technology combined with the performance characteristics of GLDA.
