Over 100 million animals are killed annually for fur, with approximately 85% coming from factory farms. 🦊💔 These animals, including minks and foxes, are confined in cramped cages where they suffer from neglect, terror, and intense boredom to the point of self-mutilation, cannibalism, and madness due to the unnatural and stressful conditions. 😰 The slaughter methods used in fur farming are particularly brutal. They are bludgeoned, internally electrocuted, poisoned, or gassed before their skin is violently ripped from their body. Investigations have shown that they may even be skinned while fully conscious. This cruelty is compounded by the fact that regulations are minimal and poorly enforced. 😣 Millions more animals, such as coyotes, beavers, and raccoons, are trapped in the wild. Animals caught in traps suffer immense pain and terror. 💔 Steel leghold traps crush limbs, causing severe injuries, while snares tighten around necks or limbs, inflicting slow agony. Deep and painful cuts are unfortunately a reality for all marine animals that get entangled in fishing line or fishing nets. As the animal grows or just moves around, the fishing line starts to dig deep into the animals flesh, until starvation, infection or suffocation end its life. Depending on the exact location and severity of the entanglement, seals can survive with this injury for a long time, but this time will be spent in pain and agony. Marine animal entanglements fall under animal cruelty and should be prosecuted as such. If you're doubling down on the use of firecrackers, you're essentially saying: - you don't care about people with lung/heart disease - you don't care about the future of our next generation - you don't care about the law of the land - you're too rooted in 'tradition' to realise that fireworks are a recent invention and a Chinese one at that - you're fine with ~10,000 people losing their lives to factory accidents and fireworks each year - you give a damn to the wellbeing of animals (including the ones you supposedly worship) Oh and before you comeback with references to Eid/Christmas/Yulin/Gadhimai, think about your personal contributions to animal cruelty, and how you can minimise them (along with your impact on climate change) P.S.
