THE GREEN WAY TO HIGH-PERFORMANCE, SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE 🌱🌍 In response to the multiple challenges facing agriculture, which must take into account environmental and societal expectations while managing agronomic issues with fewer inputs, Medinbio offers a method and biosolutions to succeed in these challenges: The system approach, based on 3 main pillars: ▪ SOL: stimulating the rhizosphere and strengthening the plant from the roots up, ▪ SDN (natural defense stimulator): activate the plant's defense system. ▪ Natural actives ingredients: identify and formulate the most relevant natural actives contributing to the management of specific targets (pests, pathogenic fungi, etc.). MEDINBIO also organizes the deployment of several crops without synthetic pesticides for the needs of major agro-industrial partners by advising (consulting) on a wide variety of 100% natural biosolutions. 📢Our team will be present à ABIM - Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting next 20-23/10 at Basel We also would like to thank Wallonia Export & Investment Agency and Wagralim for their support and organization. We are excited to announce the launch of another nano project! #NanoAzadirachtin! At the heart of IIL Biologicals Ltd. i.e. "NanoBiotech Research Lab.", we have successfully developed "Nanoformulation of Azadirachtin (3000 ppm)" with particle size <10 nm. We are Grateful to Our Mentors (Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, MD, IIL Biologicals Ltd. and Dr. LC Rohela, AVP, QC/QA, IIL) and Kudos to the Team! Nano-formulations in agriculture involve the application of nanoparticles to improve the delivery and efficacy of fertilizers, pesticides, and biostimulants. These formulations enhance the bioavailability of active ingredients, reduce environmental impact, and provide controlled release of nutrients or agrochemicals. Azadirachtin is a naturally occurring compound extracted from the seeds of the neem tree (Azadirachta indica). It is widely recognized for its insecticidal, antifeedant, and growth regulatory properties, making it a powerful biopesticide in sustainable agriculture. Azadirachtin interferes with the hormonal systems of insects, preventing molting and reproduction, thus controlling pest populations without harming beneficial organisms. It is used to control a wide variety of insect pests, including aphids, whiteflies, and caterpillars, in crops like fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. It is eco-friendly, biodegradable, and non-toxic to humans, making it a key component in integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Nano-formulations of Azadirachtin can help significantly reduce the applications of agrochemicals, minimize environmental contamination, and promote precision agriculture by optimizing resource use. Currently, the product is under different phases of evaluation for its efficacy. At IIL Biologicals Ltd., we strive to make every effort to make Agriculture "Sustainable" for Our Farmers together with our commitment to protect the Environment also. #Azadirachtin #Nanobiopesticides #nanotechnology #nanoparticles #research #biotechnology #agricultureinnovation #IPM #Sustainable agriculture

Exciting collaboration published in Videnskab.dk! 📰 We are happy to announce a successful collaboration on research dissemination at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain), written by special consultant at DTU Biosustain Vanesa Sanchez-Guajardo, PhD with our senior researcher Pablo Cruz-Morales. Their article has been featured in the Danish media outlet Videnskab.dk, shedding light on a revolutionary approach to sustainable agriculture: 🧟♂️ Are zombie insects the way to farming without traditional pesticides? 🧟♀️ Just imagine if we could turn insects into 'zombie insects' to protect our crops without using harmful pesticides. This inventive research demonstrates how molecules from fungal infections can prevent insects from eating crops by putting them into a 'zombie state'. The method preserves the beneficial roles of insects in nature and is harmless to humans. 🌾 The benefits are clear: the crops win, the insects win, the environment wins, and we win—a rare win-win-win-win-win scenario😊 However, for this method to be viable, the public and policymakers must accept the use of sustainable, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in agriculture. Are we ready to take that step? 🤔 This research by Senior researcher Pablo Cruz-Morales highlights the longstanding symbiosis between fungi and plants, and how fungal molecules can be harnessed to create eco-friendly biopesticides. By preventing insects from eating crops without killing them, we can maintain a balanced ecosystem and avoid pesticide resistance. While this promising data brings us closer to a sustainable future, we need to ensure that our biopesticides are insect-specific and safe for humans. Moreover, current EU and Danish legislation presents challenges due to the use of GMOs in production. 🌍 As a society, we must decide: should we continue with traditional pesticides, or should we embrace innovative biopesticides for a more sustainable agriculture? Read the full article (in Danish) to explore how fungal infections, plants, and insects interact, and the potential of this groundbreaking research. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dvDvGWse Photo: Ophiocordyceps gracilis, that infects insects and makes them into zombies DTU - Technical University of Denmark Novo Nordisk Foundation #biotechnology #fungi #agriculture #sustainability

Biotechnology is revolutionizing agriculture, offering innovative solutions to age-old challenges. Recent advancements include the development of genetically modified potatoes with enhanced nutritional profiles and improved resistance to diseases, aiming to meet the demands of health-conscious consumers and address storage issues. In the United States, regulatory bodies like the EPA, FDA, and USDA have collaborated to streamline oversight of biotechnology products, ensuring safety and fostering innovation. However, the path forward is not without debate. In Africa, discussions intensify between proponents of increased fertilizer use to boost yields and advocates of agroecology, which emphasizes sustainable practices and biodiversity. These developments prompt us to consider: How can we balance technological innovation with ethical considerations and environmental sustainability in agriculture? #Agriculture #Biotechnology #Sustainability #Innovation
