These are the boring, yet impactful aspects of API operations I am here for--low-tech, economy impacting, real-world stuff like the API deprecation notice from the Department of Labor.

"A reliable CI/CD pipeline is the backbone of every modern project, yet there's limited visibility into its processes, often requiring manual review and analysis of build outputs. By leveraging OpenTelemetry standards we want to bring observability to our pipelines, making the software delivery process fully observable. Join our journey redefining CI/CD observability, learn how you can start implementing the techniques we are using at Grafana Labs to ensure your pipelines are more reliable and stay performant over time, how to identify flakiness, bottlenecks, and how we envision a future where - no matter your system or your observability solution - we can effortlessly have full visibility over our software delivery process. You will learn what it takes to make CI/CD fully observable, how we think OpenTelemetry is going to play a major role in this, what obstacles we encountered, what are the challenges ahead and how anyone can help shape the future of CI/CD observability." https://lnkd.in/eWhKbbFB

#DailyMoneta - Building for Robust Operations 🚀 I've been working on an exciting update to our backend services: implementing a task management system that guarantees resumable flows and operational continuity. Even if a system restarts, all tasks will resume seamlessly, ensuring efficiency and reliability. It's a key step towards building autonomous tasks and centralizing LLM consumption control for more robust operations. Are you curious to learn more about how these features come together to improve backend processes? Software innovation just isn't what it used to be, and Moxie Marlinspike blames Agile" Layers of abstraction and speedy development have left engineers unable to understand what lies beneath There's a rot at the heart of modern software development that's destroying innovation, and infosec legend Moxie Marlinspike believes he knows ex... URL: https://lnkd.in/dbCpzjNB --- Innovation is far from dead in the world of software development. Sure, Agile methodologies emphasize speed and flexibility, but they don't stifle creativity. They streamline it. Agile allows teams to iterate quickly, respond to user feedback, and adapt to changing market demands. This isn't a "rot"—it's evolution. Agile practices foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Instead of blaming Agile, let's recognize its role in enabling rapid, customer-focused advancements. What do you think? Are we evolving or regressing? Check this out: https://lnkd.in/dbCpzjNB

I want to turn the spotlight on an often overlooked aspect of our businesses - our processes, systems, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). In our quest for peak efficiency, it’s crucial to pause and consider the possibility that the absence of well-documented systems and processes might actually be holding us back, both in terms of time and financial resources. Consider this: ➡️ Without clearly defined processes, are you and your team not spending excessive time figuring out daily tasks that could have been streamlined? ➡️ In the absence of documented systems, could you be risking not only the quality of your output but also the potential for growth, as every new situation feels like starting from scratch? ➡️ How much financial resource might be tied up in rectifying errors that a simple SOP could have helped avoid? Documenting your business processes might seem a hefty task now, but the long-term efficiency gains and cost savings can be profound. It’s time for a change. How has the implementation (or lack thereof) of systems and processes impacted your operations and growth? If you suspect that your business could improve its bottom line and operate more smoothly by better documenting its processes, drop me a message to have a chat. #SOP #BusinessEfficiency #FinancialGrowth #GurlerMae
