I had the pleasure of attending the Mall Of The Future Summit 2024 in Sydney, and it was truly a insightful forum. From today’s discussions it emerged that the key thriving in this new era lies in the ability of shopping malls to reinvent themselves, cater to the needs of their community, and create memorable, engaging environments that foster long-lasting relationships with customers. Below are a few of the factors fueling the transformation of malls that I noted during today's discussions. 1. Focus on experiential spaces 2. Smart malls with flexible technology 3. Pop-up shops to test new concept 4. Green malls/focus on sustainability 5. Health and wellness zones 6. Omni-channel retail experiences 7. Flexible lease terms 8. Community-building initiatives 9.
