Kinetech’s Post

💛 With a genuine passion for the industry, we'd love to support more UK based Femtech businesses to scale! 💛 The Femtech industry has emerged as a rapidly growing sector, with products and services focused on women's health, including areas like menstruation, menopause, fertility, and sexual wellness. By 2027, the global Femtech market is expected to reach over $60 billion! 🌍 Despite the vast potential and the fact that women make up half the global population, the sector remains significantly underfunded compared to other areas in tech. One of the key barriers for Femtech startups is the disproportionate allocation of venture capital (VC) funding. Even though 85% of Femtech companies are founded by women, many of them struggle to secure funding from predominantly male investors who may not fully grasp the needs or significance of women's health tech. This leaves many founders feeling misunderstood after pitch meetings However, shout out to VC funds that are leading the way in investing in Femtech. According to Vestbee, funds like Ascension, General Catalyst, Goddess Gaia Ventures, Octopus Ventures, Salica Investments and Seedcamp have been active in supporting Femtech startups. These funds recognise the untapped potential in women's health, but much more investment is needed to close the gap.
