We were pleased to support the 2024 Northwest Nonprofit Capacity Report. What were the top three capacity needs identified by our nonprofits? 1. Resources: This is always the top priority - the ongoing funding of incredible work. 2. People: Succession planning, meaningful staff development, effective volunteer engagement, dusting off HR policies that haven't been touched in 7 years... 3. Evaluation: How do you measure impact without overwhelming frontline staff? How are staff and participants involved in the sensemaking of data? Northwest Nonprofit Capacity Survey - M. J. Although Americans trust philanthropic organizations more than government and businesses, almost a third believe not-for-profits are on the “wrong track,” according to a 2023 survey. But there are ways to manage public perception to help your nonprofit weather unexpected crises. For example, strive to be transparent and make communicating how you use donor funds a priority. Also enlist the help of staff and volunteers to put your nonprofit in the best possible light and be prepared to combat potential backlash when other nonprofits generate negative publicity. Finally, know when to cut your losses and move on.https://bit.ly/3V2RvXy
