Kimberley Development Commission’s Post

NAIDOC 2024, Community Walk in Kununurra! ⚫️🟡🔴 The Kimberley Development Commission team in Kununurra proudly attended the NAIDOC Community Walk, joining in the celebration of this year's NAIDOC Week theme: "Blak, Loud and Proud." This theme is a powerful reminder of the resilience, culture, and achievements of First Nations people. 👏 ⚫️🟡🔴 NAIDOC Week is a time for all Australians to reflect on the strength and history of Indigenous communities, to honour the dreams of elders, and to engage in meaningful celebration and dialogue. ⚫️🟡🔴 Our region is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and untouched natural beauty. What truly makes it vibrant is its rich history, its diverse culture and art. At the Commission, we feel privileged to work for the Kimberley. We cherish the opportunity to learn about its art, immerse ourselves in its culture, and come together as a Community. ⚫️🟡🔴 ℹ️Visit NAIDOC.org.au to find amazing resources and ways to take part of the week with music, movies, activities... How does your workplace participate in NAIDOC Week❓ We’d love to hear about the activities, events, or initiatives you organise. 🫶: Wunan Foundation Wunan Health Waringarri Media Waringarri Aboriginal Arts Ord Valley Aboriginal Health Service - OVAHS Anglicare WA Legal Aid WA Horizon Power 54 reasons WA Police & Community Youth Centres (PCYC) Department of Communities WA WA Police Force Shooting Stars Foundation WYAC Wyndham Youth Aboriginal Corporation Water Corporation North Regional TAFE One Tree Community Services Office National Australia St John Ambulance Binarri Binyja Yarrawoo Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley...
