Cavaliers ink Marcus Morris for remainder of the season - https://lnkd.in/dSHc46aS MARCH 29: The Cavaliers have officially signed Morris for the remainder of the season, the team confirmed today. in a press release. 28TH MARCH: Forward Mark Morris saw his 10-day contract with him gentlemen will expire overnight, temporarily making him an unrestricted free agent. However, he won't remain a free agent for long, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com (Twitter link), the Cavs plan to bring Morris back on a deal that covers the remainder of the 2023/24 season. Many players who sign 10-day contracts don't play much for their new clubs, but that wasn't the case for Morris. He averaged 7.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 18.4 minutes per game in his five appearances with Cleveland. Morris, a 13-year NBA veteran, has technically been on four teams this season, but he didn't play in a game for two of them (the Clippers and Spurs). He was sent from Los Angeles to Philadelphia in the James Harden deal, then shipped from Philadelphia to San Antonio at the February deadline. The 34-year-old was waived by the Spurs late last month, making him eligible for the playoffs. He found a new team a few weeks later when he signed with Cleveland. The Cavs have an opening on their standard roster, meaning they don't need to cut anyone to re-sign Morris. Their 18-man roster will be complete once the deal is official. All Star Snubs??? Over the weekend, the reserves and pitchers were named for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, which will be held July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The starters were named last week. As is the case every year, it’s disheartening to see deserving players left off the All-Star team, often referred to as ‘snubs.' One snub that stood out to me was the Arizona Diamondbacks First Baseman, Christian Walker, who left off the team. Walker is having an impressive season with 22 home runs and more than 60 RBIs and helped lead the DBacks to the World Series in 2023. Last week, the D-Backs were in LA to play the Dodgers, and Walker put on a clinic, much like he did in the ’23 playoffs, hitting five home runs in the three-game series. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called him “Babe Ruth against us.” But apparently, the Babe wasn’t good enough. Part of the problem is that every team must have at least one all-star representative, a rule designed to ensure every team is represented, but which can sometimes leave one less slot for other deserving players. Ironically, this year’s NL All-Star manager is the D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo, Walker’s manager. But Lovullo clearly couldn’t pull the strings for one of his guys. As we mentioned earlier, this year’s team includes 19 players under the age of 27, but what about older players like Walker, now 33 and in his 10th MLB season? A shame. John Boxley Box-seats.com

"Exciting news, Eagles nation: Just in the past 24 hours, our Birds have made some electrifying moves that could shake up the season!" - Roster Adjustments Due to Injuries: The Philadelphia Eagles have made significant roster changes following injuries to key players. Britain Covey was placed on injured reserve with a broken shoulder bone, expected to be out until at least Week 10. The team signed wide receiver John Ross to the practice squad and moved tight end Jack Stoll to the 53-man roster. - Impact on Wide Receiver Depth: A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, the team's top receivers, are also dealing with injuries. Brown has a hamstring injury, and Smith is recovering from a concussion. This leaves the Eagles with only Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson on the active roster, making John Ross a potential call-up for Week 4. - Offensive Line Injuries: Right tackle Lane Johnson and right guard Mekhi Becton were injured in the game against the New Orleans Saints. Johnson has a concussion and is listed as questionable for Week 4, while Becton injured his finger and may miss time. Backups Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson performed well in their absence. - Special Teams Adjustments: With Britain Covey out, rookie defensive back Cooper DeJean is expected to take over as the team's main punt returner. DeJean had a strong college career, averaging 13.1 yards per punt return at Iowa. - Coach Nick Sirianni's Job Security: Coach Nick Sirianni is facing scrutiny and questions about his job security after the Eagles' recent performance. Despite a 2-2 record, the team's struggles, particularly on defense, and last season's collapse have raised concerns about Sirianni's ability to maintain team cohesion and make effective in-game decisions. #FlyEaglesFly #PhiladelphiaEagles #EaglesNation #NFL #EaglesRoster #InjuryUpdate #BirdGang #EaglesFootball #EaglesFans #JohnRoss #AJBrown #DeVontaSmith #LaneJohnson #NickSirianni #NFLInjuries #SpecialTeams #EaglesOffense #EaglesDefense #EaglesWire #GoBirds #EaglesUpdates #EaglesPride #EaglesCommunity #NFL2023 #EaglesNews #FootballSeason

New Post: How to watch Clippers vs. Mavericks: TV channel, Game 2 live stream, time, NBA playoffs odds, prediction - https://lnkd.in/dzceGdMf The Dallas Mavericks quickly learned that you shouldn't take your opponent lightly, even if their best player is out. Heading into Game 1 of this matchup against the Clippers, Dallas was favored because Kawhi Leonard was ruled out, and rightfully so, L.A. is a different team without the two-time champion. But instead of Dallas getting a win, they not only lost Game 1 but were pretty embarrassed, fell behind by as many as 29 points, and never held a lead in the game. That's thanks to James Harden, Paul George and Ivica Zubac all eclipsing the 20-point mark, while Terance Mann and Russell Westbrook reached double figures as well.Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving combined for 64 points. But when the rest of your starting lineup musters up only 14 points combined with the bench adding on another 19, you're not going to win any games. As we prepare for the Clippers and Mavericks matchup, here's what you need to know ahead of Game 2. Clippers vs. Mavericks Game 2Date: Tuesday, April 23

🏈 Fantasy Football Alert! 🏈 Looking to stay atop the work office pool? Here's another set of waiver wire picks to give your team the edge: - Bucky Irving (RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - If you're a Rachaad White owner listen up...his hold on the backfield might be coming to an end. Irving saw an uptick in usage in week three and could be on his way to a RBBC in Tampa Bay. - Cole Kmet (TE, Chicago Bears) - Rookie QBs lean heavily on tight ends and Caleb Williams is no different after connecting with Kmet 10 times for 97 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Kmet should continue to see a ton of the ball for the Bears. - Jauan Jennings (WR, San Francisco 49ers) - Jennings took advantage of his opportunity (unlike his teammate Ronnie Bell) and turned his WR2 week into an 11-catch, 175-yard, three-touchdown game. Depending on when Deebo returns to the lineup, he's a good FLEX play for the time being. - Carson Steele (RB, Kansas City Chiefs) - Last week was the week when Steele got picked up in most leagues but if he's still available, grab him and run. It's clear he'll see the majority of first and second down touches while Pacheco is on the IR, which means heavy production in Kansas City's offense. - JuJu Smith-Schuster: (WR, Kansas City Chiefs) - It's clear Rice is WR1 but JuJu has familiarity with Mahomes. Add in Kelce's drop-off and a WR room that lacks experience, Smith-Schuster could see his role grow going forward. I wouldn't pick him up yet but is one to watch, #FantasyFootball #WaiverWire #NFL #FantasySports #WinningStrategy

THE PRICE OF DISRESPECT: WESTBROOK’S $35K FINE Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook has been fined $35,000 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture during a game, the league announced on Friday, November 29. The incident took place in the fourth quarter of Denver’s 145-118 home loss to the New York Knicks on Monday. Westbrook, who scored 24 of his 27 points in the final quarter, made a middle finger gesture towards the Knicks’ bench after hitting a 3-pointer with 5:55 remaining. Westbrook appeared to be reacting to the «travel!» shouts from New York’s bench. Initially, it seemed he had left his feet and come back down with the ball still in his hands. However, a closer look suggests that Josh Hart slightly dislodged the ball from Westbrook’s hands, allowing him to legally reestablish control with a live dribble upon his descent. Joe Dumars, NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations, announced the fine. Westbrook, 36, is averaging 12.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.1 rebounds in 17 games (three starts) in his first season with the Nuggets. The nine-time All-Star and two-time scoring champion has career averages of 21.6 points, 8.1 assists, and 7.1 rebounds over 17 seasons with six teams. Despite the circumstances, the league will not tolerate players making obscene gestures during games. While a $35,000 fine might seem excessive in everyday terms, it’s a small amount for an NBA player like Westbrook, who has earned nearly $350 million in salary alone in his career, not including his numerous endorsements. He’ll manage. Nevertheless, this situation underscores the importance of maintaining respectful behavior, especially for athletes who serve as role models. It’s crucial for players to demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity, both on and off the court, to inspire fans and future generations. Perhaps, a larger fine should have been imposed.
