More kind words from clients today; I’m so delighted to receive positive reviews like this!🥰 Yes, I’ve had some new students join my GCSE groups this September.🤜🤛 Many students arrive with me with tales of woe relating to the recruitment and retention crisis – high teacher turnover leading to a poor classroom experience leading to underperformance.📉 Moreover, this year’s cohort, who left primary in lockdown, are really feeling the burden of the covid years.🤧 In my GCSE groups we focus on the type of study which really makes a difference in these circumstances.💻 It’s all about those four key elements: knowledge, exam skills, revision skills, confidence.🧠📝📖😎 Teachers rarely have the time to attend to all of this in the classroom because of the demands of the curriculum, even though there is a clear need now more than ever!📚 I always say that tuition is ‘an investment in life’.🧑👧➡👨🎓👩🎓 Why not come and see what I mean! #history #historytutor #uktutor #onlinetutor #internationaleducation #globaleducation

Since GCSE exams are looming, it is time to explain my story... I struggled with my GCSE exams. Although my predicted grades were high, my results were average. I left some of my exams thinking I could have done better, and I regretted not being organised with my revision. After completing my bachelor's degree, I founded GCSE Catch Up. I incorporated my past experiences and feedback received from teachers to build this platform. The mission? To create an affordable solution that could replicate the effectiveness of private tuition without the need for 1-to-1 teaching. Something I wished I had access to when I was in year 11, six years ago. GCSE Catch Up is offering all year 11 students free exam preparation lessons by our tutors from May 1st until June 13th—a minimum of three preparation lessons per core GCSE exam. I don't want any Year 11 students to leave the exam hall with regret like I did. Do you? Offer your students our tutor-taught exam prep lessons for free - no strings attached. Reach out to us today. #gcse #exam #secondaryschool #teachers

3 active revision strategies for GCSE students ⤵️ We’re only a few weeks away from the summer exam season and it’s all hands on deck at Keystone Tutors as we prepare our students for their GCSEs. But there’s one question that always crops up just before Easter… ‘What’s the best way to revise?’ Truth is, it’s different for everyone. But in my experience, simply reading through the content isn’t enough – only a fraction of it will actually stick. An effective revision session will need action, engagement and critical thinking. There are many active revision strategies, but here are a few favourites: → Placemats → Flashcards → Testing yourself Scroll through the carousel below for more information on each! What’s the best active revision method you teach your students? Comment them below! #tutoring #education #gcsestudents #revisiontips

When we welcome our staff back for the September teacher training day one of the first items on the agenda is reviewing our summer GCSE results and the results of individual students. This includes highlighting particular successes, for us this not only includes our highest attainers but also includes the students who have made good progress since joining us in Year 7 and those who have overcome barriers and difficulties to achieve their best. In a year-group of almost 140 pupils, this level of consistency (in terms of excellence of results) is remarkable and I am starting to get an idea of the extraordinary levels of care and support for both individuals and also small groups of pupils that have made it all possible. Lots of incredible personal stories of resilience in the face of challenge and tragedy too. In short, amazing statistics/'data' on a collective level but amazing stories at a 'human' level too.
#GCSE2024 New Head Nick Gregory commented: “I am absolutely delighted to see that over two-thirds of all GCSE exams have been graded at 7, 8 or 9 (previously A* and A), with an amazing 22% at the top grade of 9. This represents a record-breaking set of exam results for our Ipswich School pupils, with notable successes right across the range of the twenty-three different subjects that we offer within our GCSE academic curriculum."
