I’m always looking for opportunities to connect with fellow engineers who share a passion for solving complex challenges in innovative ways. Next week, I’ll be in Krakow, Poland, to meet my colleagues in person, and I couldn’t be more excited! This visit isn’t just about internal collaboration—it’s also about building bridges across the engineering community. Whether you’re in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering, I’d love to connect with you. I’m eager to share what we’ve been building, but more importantly, I want to hear from you. Whether you’re actively exploring new opportunities or just passively interested in seeing what’s out there, I believe the best relationships often start with simple conversations. So, if you’re in Krakow and interested in discussing technology, sharing insights, or learning about what we’re doing at Clari, DM me. Let’s grab a coffee while I’m in town. #Infrastructure #DevOps #SRE #PlatformEngineering #Krakow #CloudEngineering #Networking #Clari

Just wrapped up an engaging session with the #Nexxen TLV Engineering team, where I presented on Engineering metrics such as DORA. #DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) metrics are key performance indicators used to measure software delivery performance. They include four metrics: 1. Deployment Frequency: How often new code is deployed. 2. Lead Time for Changes: The time it takes from code commit to production deployment. 3. Change Failure Rate: The percentage of deployments that cause failures in production. 4. Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR): The time it takes to recover from a failure in production. In addition to DORA metrics, we also covered several other important engineering metrics that provide valuable insights into how well a software team is performing, such as PR Rate, PR Size, Rework Rate, and more. On that note, we’re hiring! If you’re passionate about discussing and implementing these metrics, we have plenty of open positions on the Engineering IL site. We have opportunities on all fronts—from Data Engineering, Web Apps (my 2nd family), to DevOps—ranging from entry-level to senior roles. Check out the opportunities here: https://lnkd.in/dJH3ft98

Why would anyone think of hiring a large engineering team? 🤷♂️ With the rise of no-code solutions and engineering toolsets like Copilot. The buy it, build it debate has never been more apt in 2024. Is the future of Software Engineering safe? 🆘 I’ve got some answers and some questions. #software #engineering

Advancing your IT career isn’t just about mastering new tools—it’s about consistent growth and embracing new challenges. Many IT professionals start at the help desk, gaining hands-on experience with troubleshooting and customer support. But what’s next? One exciting path is Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), where software engineering and IT operations intersect to ensure stable, high-performing systems. In this role, you’ll: 🔧 Automate IT infrastructure 📊 Monitor application reliability and performance ⚠️ Manage incidents and system failures 🔄 Lead change management to maintain system stability With collaboration between development and operations teams at its core, SRE offers significant career growth. Ready to take the leap? Learn more about this path and others on our blog https://hubs.ly/Q02YZC3B0 #ITCareers #SiteReliabilityEngineering #CareerAdvancement

Still looking for a job in Software Engineering Management! Just throwing this out there... After looking at over 250+ job descriptions, if it includes something to the effect of "Manage an on-call rotation for your team" That's an immediate pass for me. It's clear based on that line alone: your company doesn't care about testing and regularly releases bugs into production. As part of a salaried position it's expected you may need to work outside of regular work hours and tier-1 and tier-2 bugs happen. Needing to call it out means something is wrong.

If you're applying for a Site Reliability Engineering position: Pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to the job listing and what interviewers say about the actual job responsibilities. If you're not too careful, you might be signing up for an operations role where they expect you to do manual effort and incident response, day in and day out. If they aren't asking you to automate away manual effort through software engineering... If they aren't tasking you with rolling out SLOs on the systems you support... You're NOT DOING SRE, period. (If you're a company looking to grow an SRE department and need help... let's talk!) #SRE #DevOps #SoftwareEngineering #GetHired
