This is the ceremonial blade of the Ancient Egyptian Princess Ita, Pharaoh's daughter. She lived in the 12th Dynasty, circa 4,000 years ago. The hilt is made of gold. The blade is made of bronze and is mounted on a solid gold shoulder. The tongue of the bronze blade fits exactly into the hilt. The style and form of the blade are Phoenician and Cretan in origin. The design is exquisite and it is perfectly built. Was it made abroad or made by local Egyptian swordsmiths influenced by foreign styles? We will never know. What we do know is that the skills, focus and passion required were incredible. For the maker this wasn't a job, it was an obsession and transcended mere 'work'. Making something amazing or doing something revolutionary is not done by people simply doing their 'job' or 'work'. It is done by people following their dreams and fulfilling their passions in life and having the determination and drive to develop the skills and network to make it happen. Follow your passions to make success happen. Credit- archeohistories
