📈 September 2024 Sees Record Manufacturing Technology Orders, Driven by IMTS Energy 📈 The latest USMTO report from Christopher Chidzik of AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology reveals a strong rebound in manufacturing technology orders, totaling $450.6 million in September 2024. This marks a 24% increase from August and 14.6% above September 2023, making it the highest monthly total of the year! Year-to-date orders now stand at $3.35 billion, a decrease of just 7.7% compared to 2023, showing resilience and narrowing the gap from earlier in the year. Key trends underscore optimism across the industry: IMTS Boost: Orders surged as IMTS 2024 brought industry leaders together, signaling demand for enhanced capacity and innovation. Contract Machine Shops saw their highest order levels since March 2023, a positive indicator of increasing OEM activity and capacity needs. Automotive Sector growth returned in the transmission space. With the Federal Reserve cutting rates and election behind us, the outlook remains promising. As 2024 wraps up, we anticipate further momentum fueled by continued economic adjustments and end-of-year tax benefits for capital investment.
