As part of #RoadSafetyWeek, we want to shine a light on the important roles people play in our organisation, specifically the incredible work of our Family Liaison Officers (FLOs), who provide vital support to families following fatal road collisions. Stepping up to the role of FLO isn't for everyone; it takes huge amounts of resilience and compassion, and it's never easy. In this video, PC Lou Richards, one of our dedicated FLOs, shares insight into her role – from guiding grieving families through legal processes to offering kindness and humanity on their darkest days. “If I can make their worst day in their whole life a little bit smoother, then that’s what I do.” Lou also reflects on the devastating consequences of road collisions and shares a heartfelt message for all road users: “It could be any of us that makes a mistake. Just take care.
