Sales Professional's Action Plan for December As December rolls in, many of our prospects are taking time off or are out of the office, making it a quieter month for outreach. But rather than seeing this as a slowdown, let's use this time strategically to set ourselves up for success in January and beyond. Here’s how I have planned for effective outreach when everyone returns: 1. Refine Your Target List Identify key decision-makers and tailor your outreach strategy based on their specific needs and pain points. 2. Research and Insights Dive deep into research about your prospects’ industries, recent news, and trends. Understanding their challenges will help you craft personalized messages that resonate when they return. 3. Craft Compelling Messaging Develop clear, concise, and compelling messaging highlighting how your solution can address your prospects' challenges. Focus on value propositions that align with their goals for the new year. 4. Plan Your Outreach Strategy Consider a mix of emails, calls, and social media engagement to maximize your chances of connecting when they’re back in the office. 5. Engage on LinkedIn Use LinkedIn to stay active during December. Share valuable content related to your industry, engage with your network, and comment on relevant posts. This keeps you at the top of your mind when prospects return. 6. Set Up Follow-Up Reminders Schedule follow-up reminders for early January to ensure you reach out promptly after the holiday break. Timing is crucial—be among the first they hear from! 7. Reflect and Learn Take this quieter time to reflect on your past outreach efforts. What worked? What didn’t? Use these insights to refine your approach moving forward. Let’s turn this downtime into an opportunity for growth and connection. Wishing everyone a productive end to the year! 🌟#SalesStrategy #Outreach #NewYearPreparation #SalesSuccess #LinkedInTips

I hear it all the time, "Yeah I've tried Cold Outreach before, and it just didn't work." This is usually followed by the amount of time (typically less than a few months) and money spent (and possibly fired Account Executives) on it. It didn't generate the short-term results they were looking for, so it was abandoned. I'm reminded of an illustration that I heard in one sales seminar or another. If you put 100 CEOs in a room, and asked them, "How many of you are going to update your company website this year?" You might see as many as 5 hands go up. However, ask them, "How many of you are going to update your company website sometime in the next 10 years?" Nearly every hand would go up. If you sell website development, woudn't you want to be top of mind for the other 95 CEOs over the next 10 years? So, the problem is not with Cold Outreach "not working". The issue is the time limits placed around it, and a key misunderstanding of what it's doing for you, even when deals aren't coming in. Done correctly, Cold Outreach establishes a regular communication between you and your target clients that you cannot achieve any other way. It's not just about pitching your business. It's about sending out information, in email, LinkedIn or otherwise, that keeps your name in their inbox, so that when they are ready to buy, you're top of mind. If you're a small business, it's CRUCIAL that you establish regular cold outreach. If that's something you need help with, I'd be happy to talk to you about doing it for you. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐁2𝐁 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐒 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞? 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 4 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞-𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝! Many SaaS product teams deprioritize research when resources are tight. This isn't due to a lack of belief in research, but rather the difficulty in reaching B2B SaaS buyer personas, especially those in enterprise-level companies. Here are some scrappy tactics that have delivered excellent results to us: 1. Mask Your Research as a Contract Opportunity Create a short-term contract listing on LinkedIn and job boards that targets your persona's skills. Many professionals casually browse job postings, increasing your chances of engagement. 2. Personalize Your LinkedIn Outreach Utilize Sales Navigator to identify your target audience. Stand out with a gradual engagement campaign: - Connect with potential participants - Send personalized video messages explaining your goal of compensated research 3. Minimize Friction in the Process - Research participants beforehand using publicly available information - Streamline commitment and scheduling - Example: Ask participants to like your video message to receive a Calendly link 4. Expand Beyond LinkedIn Take cues from your sales team's outreach strategies: - Try cold emails to cut through LinkedIn noise - Use databases like Apollo or scrapers like Snowio for email addresses - Ensure proper email deliverability and include unsubscribe options to maintain your company's reputation Let's get scrappy and truly understand our customers! Would love to hear your experience: do you persist in your customer research and how do you recruit the tougher audiences? #B2BSaaS #UserResearch #ProductDevelopment #Innovation

Here's a nifty LinkedIn Sales Navigator trick for you: 1. Open the site and go to lead filters at the top. 2. Under "Current Company", use your own employer as a test. 3. Under "Title", put VP+. (Note: If your company is large, add VP+ and narrow down by location and relevant sales titles to avoid too many results.) 4. Click Save. Now, you'll receive notifications every time a new leader joins your organization. Here's what to do next: - Send them a connection request to welcome them to the organization. Once they accept your request, go back to lead filters. - Under "Connections of", select the new executive's name to see their connections as you're now 1st degree connected. - Under the Workflow tab, go to accounts list and select your territory. - Under "Title", enter all relevant titles of people you're trying to meet with. Voila! You'll now have a list of people your new executive is connected to, along with insights on how strong that connection may be (former colleague, same city, same college, etc.). If you've never tried this with your direct leaders, give it a go! There are many ways you can use these searches to find warm leads. A little detective work can yield great results, and you'll also make a positive impact on new executives by asking for introductions and showing genuine interest in their network. Have you ever wondered if cold calling is still effective in our digital age? 🤔 Here’s a perspective shift: While traditional cold calling can feel like shouting into the void, integrating a strategy of warm introductions can significantly up your sales game. Remember, it’s not just about making calls; it’s about making connections. In my experience, similar to tactics used at Mylance, leveraging platforms like LinkedIn to secure warm introductions has transformed outreach efforts. Instead of bombarding strangers with calls and emails, focusing on creating meaningful, personalized connections not only enhances the quality but also boosts the effectiveness of each interaction. Here’s a strategy shift: Instead of mass emails, choose to send a few, well-researched messages to prospects who have a higher chance of engagement. Testing and iteration are crucial. Send out a batch of emails, gauge the response, and refine your approach continuously. The key takeaway? In today’s crowded digital landscape, a tailored approach with a personal touch wins. Don’t just play the numbers game. Focus on crafting messages that address a potential client’s specific pain points, and you’re much more likely to see success. Would love to hear your thoughts on this: 💡 Do you find warm introductions more effective than cold calls? 🚀 Any personal strategies that have worked for you in shifting from cold to warm outreach? #SalesStrategy #BusinessDevelopment #Networking #LinkedInTips #WarmIntroductions #ColdCalling #SalesTips #DigitalMarketing

🌟 How do you stand out from the hundreds of daily outreach emails your dream client gets a day? The client you want to work with has hundreds of others messaging them selling something too. So you have to do things differently. You have to add value. And you have to be comfortable to do something for nothing. The thing that has worked on occassion for me is providing as much info on their issues, opportunities and fixes as possible. This means creating whole presentations I’ve spent hours upon hours on, just for the off chance they might see it or respond. Is this time effective? No. Has it helped sign clients & build relationships quicker than cold outreach? 100%. Now it doesn’t have to be a full deck of everything you’d do, but the key thing here is adding value. Everyone gets emails saying how they can increase our leads, or revenue, or views or whatever it is. But what people don’t do, is use actual data/examples etc to show a deeper understanding of that business, their current position, the competitive landscape etc. This can be done in other ways, like creating content on here, TikTok etc, to inform and engage with people. If you can add value with no expected return, the return will come back to you eventually. And if you really want to work with that client you have to go above and beyond. It’s hard work, but it comes down to how much you really want it.

Ever felt like you're shouting into the void when doing cold outreach? I get it. It can be frustrating. It's like trying to catch a fish in a vast ocean with just a tiny net. But here's the thing. It doesn't have to be that way. For starters, cold outreach is not about mass emails or calls. It's more like a tailored suit. It has to fit each prospect perfectly. It's not about 'Hey, check out my services.' It's about 'Hey, I noticed this about your business, and I think I can help.' That's the game-changer. But how to make it work? 1. Video Outreach: Imagine getting a personalized video where someone has taken the time to analyze your business and provide valuable feedback. Sounds nice, doesn't it? That's exactly what you should be doing. Record a video, walk them through their business, and suggest improvements. It's not easy, but it works. 2. Personalized Email Outreach: Not the generic, 'Hey, check out our services' kind. Make it personal. Talk about their business, location, or a recent event. The subject line? Make it stand out - mention a broken link, a negative review, or an ad budget issue. 3. The 'Do You Know' strategy: Instead of asking if they need your services, ask if they know someone who does. Suddenly, you're not just talking to one prospect but their entire network.🔗 Cold outreach is tough, no doubt, but remember, it's a numbers game. You need to keep trying, keep reaching out, keep engaging. And most importantly, keep adding value. Because when you add value, you're no longer just another email in their inbox. You become a solution. Now, tell me, what's your favorite cold outreach strategy? And how has it worked for you? #coldemailing #leadgeneration

Before you send me anything via LinkedIn, you should read this first. I get a lot of LinkedIn outreach, and most of them are just a waste of time. While I may not have the exact stats to compare cold LinkedIn outreach vs trying to pursue warm introductions, here’s what the data does tell us: 1. Warm introductions win. 84% of B2B buyers kick off their process with a referral or warm intro, and companies leveraging these have a 51% higher chance of hitting sales quotas. For sellers looking to reach the C-suite, this isn’t just a stat—it’s a roadmap. Imagine if you had a higher chance of reaching your goals, YET, you would rather use cold LinkedIn outreach? I won't respond, so don't waste your time or my time!!! 2. Cold outreach still works, but… LinkedIn InMail messages show a 300% higher response than email (interesting stat, but it's the nature of social media), with an 18-25% hit rate, but it’s still a far cry from the effectiveness of a warm introduction with specific positioning. Interesting stat: only 31% of sellers consider social selling (LinkedIn included) among their top five focuses. I guess I should consider myself lucky... :) 3. Personalization and value are key. In 2024, generic outreach falls flat. Personalization—addressing the recipient’s unique challenges—is now non-negotiable. 98% of LinkedIn marketers agree that it advances customer relationships. 4. Executives prefer warm intros. VCs and senior execs are vocal about preferring—or even requiring—warm intros. It’s no surprise cold outreach often gets filtered out amidst high message volumes. 5. Relationships over pitches. Building rapport, engaging consistently, and providing value trumps the hard pitch every time. Brands that post weekly see 5.6x follower growth, underscoring the value of consistent engagement. 6. I cannot count how many times someone wanted to build that relationship but once they realized that what they offer doesn't fit; they bail and never respond again. DON'T BE A FAKE!!! In short, while cold outreach isn’t dead, the trend clearly favors warm introductions and value-driven connections. For sales professionals, focusing on networking, relationship-building, and finding warm paths to execs isn’t just strategic—it’s essential. #salesstrategy #networking #linkedin
