Good Monday morning friends! I recently learned that the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Office of Small Business Programs offers a series of webinars with in-depth training relevant to small businesses. These webinars will provide the opportunity to ask questions directly to key points of contact at the Agency. In addition, their podcast series explores a wide range of topics from NASA and other agencies to determine how they see the small business program and what small businesses can do to support them. Check it out! The next one is coming up on February 21. #aerospace #nasa #smallbusinessgrowth #webinars

Can your model handle the complexities of real-world uncertainty? This is your opportunity to address one of the most critical questions in science and engineering: How do we make optimal decisions in the face of uncertainty? If you find these topics interesting, make sure to sign up for the "NASA & DNV Challenge on Optimization Under Uncertainty"
We're excited to be a trusted partner for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, working together to increase safety and reliability for projects that push the limits of engineering. Whether calculating the stresses in a spacecraft during launch, or assessing how an offshore structure will cope with extreme ocean conditions, decisions often need to be made without the benefit of extensive real-world testing. How can the enormous risks in these situations be managed to enable innovation, even with so much uncertainty? To tackle this issue, NASA and DNV are inviting experts to solve a mathematical challenge. Participants will gain access to DNV's Simulation Trust Center (STC) to generate synthetic data that represents the real world and to test their solution. ╰┈➤ Read the press release to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dUG-vr2Q [EDIT] Please note that the date in the image should read December 16 2024, which is when the press release was published. The deadline for registering new teams is December 27 2024.

Ah, love this! NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is teaming up with Microsoft to create an AI chatbot designed to make it easier to access and understand scientific data about the Earth. The tool, called Earth Copilot, is designed to make it easier to access and understand NASA’s database of information. We should have chat bots for all general knowledge facts, created by the responsible organizations, using real data. Maybe not by Microsoft Copilot, as they are still figuring they way out, but OpenAI or Claude could support!

I really enjoyed sharing some insights on the evolution of digital transformation to where we are today with the promise of #GenAI at the Dublin Tech Summit. GenAI has the potential to help businesses large and small focus move away from the drudgery of routine tasks to focus on core business objectives. Many thanks to my co-panellists Peri Kadaster from Nearform, Ross Sleight from CI&T, and Yasser Haridi from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and of course Ciara O'Brien for an excellent job keeping us on track. #AI #DigitalTransformation #DubTechSummit #DublinTechSummit

#SXSW day 3: my c3PO moment. Jeffrey Cardenas from Apptronik and Shaun Azimi from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration talked about humanoid robots to leverage our collective aspirations. Jeff calls this “Robots for Humans”, and I always wondered why they humanoid form was a good solution vs any number of configurations you could develop. They gave 3: 1. The existing base of innovations is built for human interactions (tools, seats etc..) 2. Humanoid form is multi-purpose. Humans are a very good general purpose pattern recognition solution. 3. Many AI advancements are due to reinforcement learning with humans in the loop. Humanoids have much “ground truth” data from humans (hands, movements etc..) to draw from, train and improve. To me #3 is compelling. Availability of good data for rapid training is one of the biggest accelerators to autonomy.
