🇱🇺 The Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) has issued Circular 24/861, introducing updates to #antimoneylaundering and #counterterroristfinancing (#AML/ #CFT) regulations. The new guidelines provide clarifications on the identification and verification of #UltimateBeneficialOwners (#UBOs) using a #riskbasedapproach. Professionals are now required to apply more stringent procedures to ensure #transparency in corporate structures and correctly identify individuals who own or control more than 25% of shares or voting rights. This measure aims to strengthen efforts against illicit financial flows and enhance financial transparency.

🔔 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵 | The European Parliament has just adopted the three remaining texts of the 𝗔𝗠𝗟-𝗖𝗧𝗙 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝗴𝗲, i.e. the AML Directive, the AMLA Regulation and the AML Regulation. 💡 These texts will enter into force after their adoption by the Council and their subsequent publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
