Forget AI, I believe this is where the next truly big innovation will pop. While quantum computing has the potential to perform incomprehensible feats of computation, it also poses a conundrum: if (or when) a machine's ability to process information and predict outcomes is so vastly superior to our own abilities, how or under what circumstances/constraints should we actually trust and rely on it?

I remember my discussion with Jeff Dean when we met almost two years ago about the future of Google QuantumAI. I still remember him emphasizing their ambitious goal: building more robust qubits to pave the way for practical quantum computing. ⚛️ Today, that vision is coming to life with AlphaQubit, a groundbreaking Google QuantumAI and Google DeepMind project. So Google is just casually throwing around the idea of parallel universes and that we live in a multiverse in this Willow quantum chip announcement. What a time! "Willow’s performance on this benchmark is astonishing: It performed a computation in under five minutes that would take one of today’s fastest supercomputers 1025 or 10 septillion years. If you want to write it out, it’s 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years. This mind-boggling number exceeds known timescales in physics and vastly exceeds the age of the universe.
